and the expectations on this board for the last several years. people seemed to love his potential for some unknown reason. like I said, "Ramon Sessions Syndrome".

That's 10mil more than ESPN is reporting. The video in this article says 'more than 30mil', but the article itself says 28.

Even if he's a backup, its not a bad contract (if what they're reporting is true). 5 mil each of the first 2 years, 9 in the 3rd and a team option for 9 in the 4th. So, if he sucks next year, that's 2 years of being overpaid at only 5mil and then he becomes an expired 9mil contract in the 3rd. Seems pretty low risk to me.

Sessions would be a good pickup.... not great. He kind of flopped on the Lakers.

Actually, he was great for them in the regular season. Their offense took off after he joined them. He flopped for them in the playoffs.

So essentially he flopped when it mattered most

"Raps G Jerryd Bayless is now unrestricted free agent, agent Jeff Schwartz tells ESPN. Raps have pulled qualifying offer to make Bayless UFA"

@ESPNSteinLine

According to Mark Stein, the Raptors just pulled their QO to Bayless.

Get it done, Neil

I bet he goes back to his hometown if their pitch for Gordon fails.

Joe Freeman ‏@BlazerFreeman
Kahn! RT @danzsmith300 bayless to the twolves?

LOL

John Hollinger ‏@johnhollinger
Bayless couldn't have blown up Fields/Lowry deals by accepting QO. May signal another deal coming for Raps.

I wouldn't mind Bayless as the Blazers' shooting guard.

Lillard
Bayless
Batum
Aldridge
Hibbert (with some luck)

would be a pretty interesting lineup with some upside. If no Hibbert...hell, throw Leonard in there. Let the kids play!

Not sure how many wins we would have, but Bayless and Liilard would probably be a really fun back court to watch

Bring back T-Rex! Nolan Smith is the poor man's Bayless, who is the poor man's Rex Chapman, who is the poor man's Vinnie Johnson!

I don't expect a title contender, or even a strong playoff team, the next year or two. I'm happy to shuffle through players who have some intriguing qualities and see if any of them break out as Blazers. I'll take "fun to watch" in the meantime.

Interracial player comparison rules violation. Must replace Rex Chapman.

Wes matthews > jerryd bayless. I'd rather throw barton into the mix than get bayless back

Watch the game, not box scores.

Bayless had a nice season last year on limited minutes (700 or so)but its the same story with him. You see inconsistent flashes when he's given a 1/2 option offensively in a starting lineup, but has shown little use to team outside of that. His effectiveness goes way down when he's asked to come off the bench or play a more limited role.

With Lillard now, Bayless makes little sense.

trex played 7 games with more than 29 minutes last year guys, lets not get ahead of ourselves

And they went 3-4 (.428) which is a better winning % than when he played fewer that 29 minutes which was only .348
