hes hoping for a discount on next nurk contractDoing favors for Rich Paul clients now
I'm about this anyways. We know that Simmons is probably a little better than Siakam overall right now anyway, Siakam just doesn't have the shooting liability but the upside of Simmons is phenomenal. By the end of their contracts Simmons could be better than Dame ever will be... you just can't say that about Siakam. So I would leverage whatever draft capital needed.Might get slaughtered for saying this but with the Siakam injury I might call up Philly and pony up CJ/3 1s for Simmons. I mean whens the last time one of our mid 20s picks hit anyway? Simmons is only 24 and fills the PF and backup PG needs. I say roll the dice.
Dame
Norm
RoCo
Simmons
Nurk
is the best lineup we have had in 20 years.
I gives you flexibility in a trade to include him but obviously Ben isn't coming close to doing what Ant does and that is pretty sad since it isn't like Ant has lit the world on fire (outside of a few games). I think this is just bench filler.I wonder if this means Ant is gone.
neither am i, that bench looks weakAs is
Dame / Simons
CJ / McLemore
Powell / Nas
Roco / DJ / Brown
Nurk / Zeller
i really don't get this roster construction.
What don't you get? Other than trading CJ and moving Norm to SG it was always going to look something like this. I actually like it better than last year (not that it is saying much). As is
Dame / Simons
CJ / McLemore
Powell / Nas

well you glossed over a pretty big point. if we were to trade CJ and move Norm to SG, we would obviously be better balanced. But our GM seems hellbent on this 3 guard lineup bullshit. What don't you get? Other than trading CJ and moving Norm to SG it was always going to look something like this. I was asking if that is the only thing you don't get? Because of course we could all say we don't get it. But do you have other problems with the lineup?well you glossed over a pretty big point. if we were to trade CJ and move Norm to SG, we would obviously be better balanced. What I don't get is how Neil can rationalize this come training camp.
was this in his article? missed this oneQuick says watch out for Millsap
True, Must get some impact help on bench. Could happen in a CJ trade. But if not, have go find it.neither am i, that bench looks weak
Last year's looked less weak? It had more "names" but they were past prime names.neither am i, that bench looks weak

I still think DJ Jr. can play with the right coach. I would like to give him until the deadline with Chauncey. Of course I would throw him on a deal for a star though.DJ and picks for a forward upgrade is the obvious move.
Got to get some consistent clutch shooters in that second unit. Ant is coming along, and Nas has potential, but we need a Seth Curry type.DJ and picks for a forward upgrade is the obvious move.
nah the gaping hole in skillset is guys who can switch on defense and guard 3s/4s. we have enough small guards who chuck.Got to get some consistent clutch shooters in that second unit. Ant is coming along, and Nas has potential, but we need a Seth Curry type.
Anyone can shoot, but not everyone can make it. I don't see any consistent shooters on the bench right now as constructed. But i'm hopeful we acquire some.nah the gaping hole in skillset is guys who can switch on defense and guard 3s/4s. we have enough small guards who chuck.
I'd be OK with any of these dudes for a wing defender spot:
Oubre Jr. (lol ya right)
Porter Jr
Iggy (break in case of emergency)
Stanley Johnson
If not them, then:
Blake Griffin
Millsap
Khem Birch
Taj Gibson
DJJ cannot play. He played in a near perfect offense in Miami and he disappeared toward the end of the season. He had Bam freaking Adebayo throwing him oops. The problem with y’all thinking of, “oh just draw up some plays for DJ to cut through”. It is not that simple. DJ cannot shoot so teams know they can back off of him a little but not enough for him to make a back door cut. His defense is okay but not great.I still think DJ Jr. can play with the right coach. I would like to give him until the deadline with Chauncey. Of course I would throw him on a deal for a star though.
About half of these guys aren't know for their D.I'd be OK with any of these dudes for a wing defender spot:

who on our team is guarding Luka/Lebron/PG/Kawhi/Giannis/KD/Harden?Anyone can shoot, but not everyone can make it. I don't see any consistent shooters on the bench right now as constructed. But i'm hopeful we acquire some.
