Yep. You're more buff than most the people that post here. You don't bring up fighting people even if it is someone else doing the fighting.

As you mature and get older, even if you could kick someones ass you let shit go. Because you have too much to lose if you got in a fight and cops got involved.

Surely someone critizing a public figure in Neil doesn't warrant bringing up fighting.

And you don't call me what Fez called me either. Insults are fighting words, and he's said some stuff that other people would fight him over. Why are you dragging this out after a mod stepped in?

Insults aren't fighting words. Neil wouldn't fight anyone even if they said something bad. You know why? Because he would have too much to lose and words can be ignored.

They're trading him not Harris and he has so many gifts. I think if we're pairing him with Dame that Dame could have a great influence on Simmons's career.

I get the feeling that Morey has so convinced himself that he can influence/ contribute to Dame demanding a trade that he wouldn't even agree to a CJ-for-Harris deal (that Neil would never offer anyway) because it would lessen his chances of dealing Simmons for Dame.

Like how Dame was so good for LMA's career?

Crappy attitudes tend to remain just that. Good leadership can occasionally smooth some of the rough edges, but the same old issues will eventually bubble up.

Playing devil's advocate here......one major difference in my mind is when Dame came to the Blazers LMA was the star and yet the younger Dame took over as the team leader. Which I think might have contributed to LMA's ego being bruised....even more than it already was.

Simmons on the other hand would be coming to the team where Dame is already established as the team leader and star. That might be a little easier for Ben to allow
Dame to help him..... then it was for LMA

Thing is Dame isn't getting traded this summer. Simmons almost has to be traded this summer before the season starts.

The comparison is nonsense. Dame came here and it was LMA's team. Dame started to take the reigns as a leader and even though LMA has never had that skill he was jealous. Dame didn't have a chance with LMA. Nurk was supposed to be poisonous and had a bad attitude before he got here and Melo wouldn't come off the bench before he got here. Dame could mentor Simmons and that was obviously never a possibility with LMA if for no other reason, just because of timing.

The fact is no one has said that Simmons has a bad attitude anyway. So not only is your comparison off, so is the premise of what you're saying. Simmons has had some confidence issues when it comes to scoring the ball. Simmons has not said that he is a socialite that won't play in Portland or Toronto that's an amalgamation of some bullshit a Bay Area sports talk guy said to inject himself into a national conversation. People have said that Simmons doesn't have strong work ethic but I think not only would Dame help with Simmons' confidence and drive to be excellent... just getting the fuck away from Philly would. At first he had to endure the "Process" and now he has a coach and teammate obviously not treating him well.

Bad comparison, bad information... people just need to stop with the Simmons slander unless they have info to back it up. If you can find me an article that is legit where Philly based reporters accuse him of a "crappy attitude" or a quote from him, a teammate or coach that would lead you to believe he has one, I would love it. Then I could understand why everyone is piling on this guy.

I think Morey is hoping that Dame gets back from Japan and demands a trade because there have been no improvements to the team yet after he called for urgent improvement to the roster. Once Dame says some shit like, "I'll be in training camp and here on opening day trying to win a championship for Portland." Morey will have to look at his other options and I don't think there is a better one than CJ for what they need and we'll have to give them more than just CJ.

But, at the same time the pressure will be on him to move Simmons before the season. He's playing games and is only going to back himself into a corner. He will be forced to come down on the demand. Likely CJ, DJJ, and a pick or 2.

Agreed. They are most likely to blink first. I am worried that Toronto is serious about building around Siakam, which makes sense. I just hope Olshey doesn't overpay for Simmons; if he can't get him for a decent price and it seems no other difference makers will be available, I would just as soon they blow it up. Probably wait for the trade deadline to confirm that Lillard and CJ and Powell won't work.

do you think Morey would be 'holding out for Dame' if his friend, Olshey, told him it wasn't happening this year? I think there are a lot of factors keeping the Dame trade rumors alive, but I'd wonder if one of those factors is what Olshey is saying to other front offices behind the scenes

I've posted before that I wouldn't put it past Olshey to move Dame just so he doesn't have to deal with someone that is pushing him to build a contender.

I'm convinced he'd much rather trade Dame than CJ. In fact, I'd be floored if Olshey ever traded CJ
