For all the people telling posters to calm down over shitty moves. What is going to be your schtick when Lillard forces a trade since running it back gets us bounced in the first round again?

The Dame discussion has absolutely nothing to do with these moves. This is all about the bench. And every time a player agrees to sign with the Blazers for next to nothing, someone mentions Dame, implying that he is so fucking stupid that he expected Neil to fix the issue with a max contract of fewer than 6 million dollars. The people saying calm down are simply trying to bring logic/sanity to a board that is barely readable right now.

If Neil makes no trades that is another discussion. But bitching every 20 minutes about it is ridiculous.

Why is it were only 24 hours into FA and the forum seems to be in full blown -- Whiney Bitch Fest 21 mode

This fan forum has turned into a joke ATM -- I find it sad and to be very honest and blunt -- pathetic

then you are participating in pathetic

I find people calling out Neil and management to be great reading material.

The neil apologists and patience people are the ones that are most annoying. Dude has had 9 years to go for it. He sucks.

You lost me at organizing with BlazersEdge. No thanks on dealing with any of those people.

I would be stoked if we traded Dame for a Massive haul. There is no in between. Get Dame help (choice #1 for me) or trade him to somewhere he has a shot and we can rebuild.

Neil hasn't shown shit in 9 years. He does decent things here and there but misses cajones to go all in.

I am incredibly embarrassed for you as a fan.

Nobody expected him to fix everything with 6 million dollars. Pretty sure everyone was happy with his Powell deal. Good job Neil! Not good enough though.

If the running it back, top starting 5 talk doesn't anger you, idk what to tell you. That is the dumbest thing we could do.

Same goes to you from me. If you like mediocrity, good for you. I'm not getting any younger and would like to see a title in my lifetime.

You VERY clearly didn't read my entire post. I suggested an out-and-out boycott of the team. But OH NO I SUGGESTED WE DO IT WITH PEOPLE YOU DON'T LIKE!!! Quite the fan you are.

nowhere? I’m not sure what your angle is here…
both guys could easily not be traded or be traded elsewhere.
all we’ve heard is we are running it back…like we’ve done for years. Why would we think anything different?

Do you know for a fact that they are "running it back"? Hell even if Neil said it (and I don't think he has) I am not sure I would believe it. It would seem like a smart thing to say in order not to appear desperate in trades. There is plenty of time for me to get pissed off. Today is not that day.

Lol. Okkkkkkkk. I want nothing to do with that website. You shouldn't want anything to do with those people either. You can go picket the team for me. I'll sit here and continue to bitch about Neil until he does something.

Hey guys, I have posted with these people for over 20 years but i'm not a fan because glazeduck said so.

If Neils past gives us any clues, yes, he will end up running it back.

Trust me. I'll be stoked if he does make a deal that benefits us. I have zero confidence in that happening.

I see many complaints, but not many actual solutions. I’m certainly not gonna sit here and waste time crying about who they gave minimum contracts to. These *shouldn’t* be players that are gonna be asked to contribute much outside of Zeller, the one guy that probably deserved more than the minimum. The path to massive improvement was never supposed to go through free agency.

So then the answer is No?
No one has said he is running it back but fans and media wannabes.

This is the big thing here. We ALL at least seemed to know that we need to make a trade in order to fix this roster. That the answer wasn't going to come in free agency. Going into free agency, we wanted Powell back, and to get rid of Carmelo and Kanter. Those have been done.
I'll be just as pissed as everyone else if this is the roster come October. And no I'm not "giving Neil the benefit of the doubt". I'm doubtful a big deal gets made. Or even a small needle mover like RoCo last year. But the constant bitching after 24 hours and 3 minimum signings is just laughable.

There's nothing to complain about fringe NBA guys being added to the roster when there is a looming trade demand from the best player in the history of the franchise? When the guy applies pressure and does everything but explicitly lay out an ultimatum to improve the roster, you sign Tony Snell and Ben McLemore?

Are you kidding me? So what you're saying is that we should be satisfied with the same rotation as last year that lost to an undermanned Denver team. Try explaining that to Dame.
what "looming trade demand"? The one the Lakers set up? Dame could've easily said Zach, Melo and Blevins gotta go....addition by subtraction...what Dame said is we weren't good enough and we weren't....what Neil said is we need a stronger bench...so we got bench players..I don't get the angst...and we can still make a trade if not now, at the deadline...Dame has had the meeting with Chauncey and Neil....he knows exactly what the plan is

Many actual solutions? They all signed with other teams. You realize we haven’t used our TPMLE yet?
If you’re telling me this is the best we could do filling out the roster then fine…
Look at what all these other teams are doing.

The solution is to fire olshey

So where is that point in time?
* when Portland has 14/15 players under contract (ie - Thursday or Friday this week)?
* when the FO goes on 'vacation' from mid-August until October?
* at the start of training camp?
* at the trade deadline?
* when Dame's contract expires in 2025?

The honest truth is that by the end of this week, the roster will likely be set for the start of training camp... Sure, a trade could still happen, but the likelihood of that is <5%.

this is pent of from years of incompetence. I myself have taken this stance every off season.
Nba draft comes..hoping we do something..nothing happens…then it’ we’ll free agency is around the corner…that must be the time…nope…but we have so much time to make a trade before the season….crickets…the trade deadline is when we finally make the needle moving deal!!! Nope
It’s the same thing every year

dame said urgency..not complacency

Both of these comments are far too rational and calm for this board right now. HOW DARE you not immediately demand a man be fired even though his job is only 1/3 over! Let alone the fact that you have zero intimate knowledge of anything else that's playing out. Or how Dame feels about these additions. Or how the meetings have gone. Or how Billups envisions using these players......

The Wall for Westbrook deal was talked about for awhile and then consummated a week after free agency began.

I can only hope at this point. But all signals are that Olshey doesn't want to trade CJ.

I bet Schroeder signs for the TPMLE with Golden State.

This doesn’t mean what you think it does.

Cryptic. What are your sources? Lol

I do know we are close to the luxury tax and using the TPMLE while filling out the rest of the roster puts us over.
Aren’t we 6 mil under? Hmmmmm

So if a trade is not made by the end of the week the likelihood of it happening in the next two months is less than 5%?
I don't believe those stats to be correct.
