Portland Trail Blazers
Before acquiring Nance, the Trail Blazers also had an interest in Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks, sources said.
Scalma -- May I ask why you would have been heated cause Brooks has shown himself to be a good scorer at times but have not paid attention to his D outside his time as a Duck since I do not watch Griz games but I am curious. I would be open to bringing him in and just looked at his stats and he averaged almost a steal a game for his career and he is 6'7 so he is not short like most of the other SG/SF on this roster.
Plus he's a hot head, and i truly doubt he would be happy coming off the bench.I don’t think he’s worth a first round pick. He graded out as a negative on both ends of the court. He’s inefficient offensively. His WS/48 would’ve put him ahead of only Elleby last season (for the record McLemore and Snell were also both superior in both that category and VORP)
Would’ve been a terrible move. Just my opinion tho

That's not a cap problem. He took the minimum. Other teams could have offered him more money. Players can decide where they want to go. Money obviously isn't the motivating factor for him anymore.Lakers sign Rondo to 2.6 mil. contract. NBA allowing Lakers to bitch slap cap again. The CAP is a total scam.
But it is a Cap problem. The Luxury tax is only a penalty to small market teams. Is going over the cap, and the only true punishment is paying tax for doing so, not involving the Cap?That's not a cap problem. He took the minimum. Other teams could have offered him more money. Some of these tax numbers this season are insane. (LA would jump to like 55 mil after the Rondo signing-- in effect, that's like a 20 million added cost just to get Rondo). $184 mil just in tax for GS is nuts.Luxury Tax is only a deterrent to small market teams PERIOD!
So you want to penalize team arbitrarily? Just because they have a certain population or media market? Those stats aren't the end all be all.But it is a Cap problem. That's why a hard cap like the NFL has is best. The NBA's cap allow the Mega Markets an unfair advantage. The Luxury Tax is not a deterrent for those markets, at all.So you want to penalize team arbitrarily? Just because they have a certain population or media market? Not a cap problem because players can choose where they want to go if they take the minimum. The other teams could have offered Rondo more but he chose to go to a team with less money. The Lakers are a contender. He played on the team before.

Their not allowed to... despite it being a soft cap there are still rules.I don't care that all these guys signed for the minimum. The Lakers are so far over the cap, they might as well have given him top dollar.
Good luck getting the players union to agree to non guaranteed contracts and the removal of minimum contracts so vet guys go without jobs for a bunch of garbage 2nd rounders and undrafteds worse than they do now. That's why a hard cap like the NFL has is best. That is absolutely true. But it's way easier for teams like Green Bay (ridiculously small market) ,& Denver (midsize market), to dominate in any given year, than the NBA.Good luck getting the players union to agree to non guaranteed contracts and the removal of minimum contracts so vet guys go without jobs for a bunch of garbage 2nd rounders and undrafteds worse than they do now.
Never. Gonna. Happen.
It is true. NFL has the opportunity for more parity. But their players get screwed for that. Sad when it is a sport that makes guys brains into mush and is a lot harder on them as they age than basketball is.That is absolutely true. NFL has a license to print money, so there is no reason Players shouldn't get Medical Coverage Paid for the rest of their lives. Past or Present. It is true. NFL has the opportunity for more parity. Jake Fischer on Halftime just said Portland (and Phoenix) have been linked with Ntilikina.
Either him or Exum... this has become quite predictable.im down. You know it’s true because he’s a former lottery pick that didn’t pan out aka Olshey special.

Even if it was Keljin Blevins?Ntilikina is a better playmaker and defender so he’s probably the better fit. But I don’t really care anymore who they sign for that last spot tbh.
