Tibia soreness? Like his bone is sore? How does one diagnose this?

I don't want to take any risks with leg stuff. Rest him all we need to. Play Ant.

So did 13 other teams. However most of the other 13 teams didn't get a player as good as CJ though.
Ya, who after us that could have drafted Giannis, got a better player than CJ? Or before us for that matter?

I go visit your sister whenever my BONE is sore!

If Curry sits, I’d bet anything robocops second unit would be

Turner
Hood
Layman
Collins
Leonard

9 man rotation? Who starts at 2?

Hood. He’ll get staggered like stotts used to do with McCollum. Probably means more minutes for someone like Jake though.

Blazers are 0-2 against Denver with CJ and Nurk. Can we beat them at their own place without our 2 best players? Tough two games ahead for us. Murray and Jokic always torch us.

I am going to go out on a limb and say Dame is our best player, so unless he is not playing we won't be without our 2 best players. Now I would say 2 or our three best players won't be playing with CJ and Nurk out. Or the second and third best players on the team, but kind of a slap in Dame's face to say he is not the best player on the team.

Stotts and Adelman are now the only 2 coaches to coach three 50 win seasons in Blazers history. Give Stotts some credit. For some perspective, the Wizards/Bullets haven’t had a 50 win season since 1979.

Rick Adelman had a pretty good roster to work with. Some might say better overall. Some might say a bunch better.

Enes Kanter's offensive rebound % is 16.2% for the season. He's 3rd behind Whiteside (16.6%) and Drummond(16.8%).

However in his games with the Blazers it's at a staggering 18.1%. That is actually kind of insane. Obviously his offensive rebounding is one of his most touted skills, but boarding literally 1/5th of all misses is just absolutely nuts.

We'll learn more about our realistic postseason chances (w/o Nurk) tonight than the last five games combined.

It's fun beating summer league squads but that will sadly come to an end.
Exactly. There are teams where we're really gonna miss Nurk and there are games where we're really really really really really gonna miss Nurk.

So who get's Curry's minutes. Just split between Hood and Layman? Or does Simons get in the game for a bit, given it is likely an L anyway?

Even if we win both our games vs DEN, we will most likely finish 4th below DEN and HOU. The only thing we need to be fighting for is to keep Utah off our backs for HCA. Magic number for that is 3 (# of our wins + Utah losses). The only way this changes is if we win both vs DEN AND they drop a game somewhere else, then we can have a chance at the #2 seed as we'd have tiebreaker vs HOU.

Our coaches need to start prepping for the Jazz as is-- pretty much set that we play them, the only question remaining will be where game 1 will be played.

Doesn't this mean if we win out and HOU wins out, we'd be tied with them?

We'd both be 54-28.

We don't get 3rd on that scenario?

If Curry sits we lose.

Go Blazers

We were going to lose anyways. Denver is the 2nd Seed for a reason, and they have consistently been the 2nd best team in the West for quite a while. We lost to them twice with a full, healthy team.

We're not winning tonight, and I highly doubt we win against them in Denver either.

Best just to make peace with that now and enjoy the game as best you can.

Stotts has been here almost 10 years and gotten out the 1st round only 2 times. To me that sticks out much more

Perfectly said. In fact I would rest Dame this game

7 seasons isn’t exactly almost 10 years. In face it’s last than 7 years. He got here 6.5 years ago. And 2 playoff series wins is pretty good when you consider Cheeks and McMillan got none over about 12 years.

Not defending Stotts but if anyone wants the actual facts:

Stotts has completed 6 seasons with Portland, so not almost 10. This will be the 7th season but we can't count it as not making the 2nd round when the playoffs haven't even occurred yet.

2 out of 6 times he's been to the 2nd round. Sounds a lot different than the 2 out of 10 you're trying to pass off as real.

And another thing, The 12 seasons prior to Stotts getting here there were 0 times we made it to the 2nd round.

0/12 is a heck of a lot worse than 2/6.

If tie is just POR/HOU, we win that tie. If tie is POR/HOU/DEN, HOU gets 2, DEN gets 3, POR gets 4.

Reasoning is spelled out in other threads.

So No CJ, No Nurk and No Curry? Good luck Blazers! Dame is not Superman. Even the great Michael Jordan needs some help.
