Analysis: Phoenix might have given up Marion last year for the aging Shaq, but it hasn't become a worse team. The Suns are a very deep team with very good starters. Nash, Shaq, and Stoudemire are All-Stars and potential future hall of famers. Diaw can be starter for many teams, but comes off the bench. Barbosa bring energy and athletism off the bench, which Grant Hill brings IQ. Fortunately for the Nets, Yi has been used as a jump-shooting big man. This is good because any would be suicidal if they tried to take it in again Shaq and Stoudemire down low. Another advantage the Nets have is the Shaq is not the Shaq he was a few years ago. It will be interesting to see if Brook Lopez and Josh Boone will be able to contain Shaq to below 10 points. Likewise, will both of the Nets' centers be able to score on Shaq. Nash has never been the most athletic guy, so Devin Harris' athleticism will like not be a match for Nash's skill, however, it probably that Nash will have more trouble on offense because of Harris' defense. Hopefully Devin can keep him under at 20 points. With Boone and Lopez on Shaq, who is going to defense Stoudemire? Look for the Nets to bring in S. William in place of Yi to take on Stoudemire.
Prediction: 100 - 89 Suns. The Nets will get an extra boost because they will be playing at home. However, they will not be able to overpower the Suns who are especially strong inside with Stoudemire and Shaq. Expect a big game from Stoudemire --- 28+ points.
