Jusuf Nurkic (thread)

There are very few post players with a polished post game when they're 23 years old.
Pau Gasol is prolly the youngest I can remember with a polished post game during his time in Memphis.
Okafor is said to have a polished post game, and certainly fits the bill. If he can ever be healthy.

I have no concerns with Nurk's post game, as he's very young.
Five years from now if he's still making the same mistakes I'll be very disappointed.

"Nurk. We need you to be good but not too good. Got to sign you to that sweetheart contract, dawg. Be like Rocky after he went the distance with Apollo Creed the first time. He wasn't a bum but he wasn't ROCKY yet. When we sign you then you can be all shredded and go after Clubber Lang. You know what? Be Paul Atreides at the beginning of Dune. Half bad ass."

Jusuf will want to forget October, but November has been treating him very well!

If Nurk averages 24/8/3 he'll be an all-star. Even 18/8/2.5 will be great for us in general.

Seems like in the past several games they are running a lot fewer post up plays for Nurk. He still gets a couple, but they seem to be coming more after he's already had success on pick and rolls, and usually when there's a position advantage.

It was ludicrous how badly the Thunder were adjusting to him on the pick and roll, and he just feasted. He's so much scarier when he plays through Lillard--teams just don't know how to handle his rolling ability vs Lillard's scoring on the pick and roll. It's like watching prime Amare and Nash at times.

You throw the ball in to Nurk in the post and Dame becomes just another spot up shooter. That's still a threat, but nowhere near the threat he is with the ball in his hands.

Lillard should get more love for his decision making and passing ability in those pick and rolls. Those aren't always easy reads or big windows yet he makes the right play way more than not. Compare it to CJ who usually ignores Nurk or makes some unnecessarily flashy pass that leads to a turnover.

CJ’s turnover rate is very good given his usage rate; this myth of CJ being a turnover machine is at least 50% bullshit.

A ball handling guard that averages almost as many turnovers as assists is 100% bullshit.

Thanks for the confirmation? That's an awful ratio for a lead guard.

Telegram from Western Union:
CJ IS A SHOOTING GUARD. A GUARD WHO SHOOTS. CJ IS NEVER THE POINT GUARD WHEN HE IS IN THE GAME. CJ'S JOB IS TO JOOK FOOLS AND HIT THREES. IF OTHER PLAYERS HAPPEN TO CATCH A BALL HE FORGETS TO SHOOT GREAT.

Good thing he's not our lead guard then... Nitpick about nothing often?

The second unit struggles are nothing to worry about? And who's our lead guard with that unit? Outside of Lillard, who has the ball in his hands more?

Nurk is immature and can get his feelings hurt, so for the sake of this franchise, I hope Stotts, coaches and Dame will know how to handle this (Im not saying situation is bad or anything), but with Nurk anything can happen, luckily hes been nothing but professional so far at POR

I believe Dame will sort this shit out (if theres anything), hes a leader and has great relationship with Nurk... I will not defend Nurkic always, but I think he had right to feel pissed last night

I dont like this shit with Vanterpool, dont act tough on Nurk you prick

What happened with Vanterpool?
he was yelling at Nurk cause of his defense

I have no problem with that, but I have problem when you yell at Nurk, but not on other players, especially at Dame & CJ, he doesnt have a guts to do that... he knows he could be out of this team if he does that

Lol lillard and cj allways played shit defense (not this Season but before) and nobody said anything. The way they treatet Nurkic was sad. Remember we were 26th in defense last year with shit defense teams like suns, nets, lakers, and with Nurkic coming we was top 10. I don't like him in Offense sometimes and his Fouling and turnovers but he is the rim protector we need with Dame and Cj as bad defenders

Not sure "Never" applies. When Dame is out, he has the ball in his hands almost constantly even when Turner is in there with him.

I notice Stotts has taken to adding Naipier to the lineup so yes I think never really does apply now.

I dont know if its true or not, but he does have some probems with his back
I posted that couple of games ago

here it is:

It really is painful. In terms of guys I like seeing post up, it's:
1. Ed Davis (because he basically only takes shots that work, and if it won't he'll give it up and the ball keeps moving)
2. Evan Turn (he's just abusing smaller guys. This is pretty much the only way he can run our offense, and he does it so well.)
3. Lillard (he does it on small guards occasionally, and is smart enough to only use it when it'll work)
4. Mo Harkless (he's just surprisingly strong for a guy with his build. I noticed he's actually got bigger, more well-defined arms than Aminu now--the dude clearly has been lifting.)
....
....
....
....
5. Nurkic (come on dude, just pass it out and get the pick-and-roll going. You have your bread, you have your butter, and you have chocolate-coated sardines dipped in tapioca. Nobody wants the chocolate coated sardines dipped in tapioca. Gimme some a that delicious, toasty pick and roll.)

This is the silliest take like... Ever...

You TRULY are using speculation here. You have NO facts whatsoever. You're just assuming. How the hell do you know what's said to our players? That's right, you don't.

Nurk told me, now what
