Meeting between Dame and Cronin today

If we're trading Ant to Chicago for a 34 year old expiring contract DeRozen we should be getting the draft compensation/rookies not them.

I am sure Chicago would spin that another way. "If you want our all-star for Simons you need to add a late first-round pick."
Personally, I would give them Kris if they gave us our pick back.

Problem with a lot on this board is they think they are Fkn GMs and know what is best.

Rebuild and put a team together for Dame can both be true at the same time.

I might not be the best GM, but I wouldn't have traded that stupid haul that the Jazz got for Gobert.... so I wouldn't be the worst GM either.

There's a possibility Dame doesn't want to be traded because he doesn't want the scrutiny/pressure of being on a contender. If he joins the Heat let's say, there's expectation on him to be the one that puts them over the top. Dame is hero in Portland partly because he's been the underdog the whole time. The Blazers have never been favorites to win a championship so he's never had to face any real heat.

I don't necessarily believe this but it's something to consider.
Hehehe, I see what you did here.

I would be more hopeful if it was just Dame & Cronin. It's the fact Dame's agent will be there. For me that's very scary. Some of you are reveling with this whole thing. Not me. Dame is my favorite player, any team , in my lifetime. For me, my love of the game , and the team , has always started with the player.

This is exactly it for me. I've been a fan of the team since the 80's, but I've never been a fan of any player like I am with Dame.

Maybe it makes me a bad fan, but so much of my interest in this team took a leap when it became "what kind of amazing thing will Dame do tonight?"

I'll always want the Blazers to win, but I won't obsessively watch them like I have the past decade if we let him get away.

This isn't just "welp, let's see what happens with a new team!" for me.

And the level of hype and expectations put on Scoot and Sharpe is counting eggs long before they hatch, imho.

I vaguely remember this either this past summer or the yr before when Dame was making rounds about threatening a demand and Henry Abbott posted his nonsense article saying the demand was forthcoming.

Nate Jones refuted it by saying if a demand was truly coming, Dame would not meet with the FO alone and that his representation would be with him alongside.

Welp.

...yes, but identified just one person.

Agreed though, that this is becoming more an more of a gotcha, I'm right, everyone else is wrong, monologue versus a welcome exchange of at least somewhat realistic discussion. It's why many have left, or started their own private sites or chats.

Hard truth, every year this forum gets nasty around draft time/free agency and then again around trade deadline. I tend to just pop in and try and avoid the drama. 99% of the posters are good people just strongly opinionated ;)

Yep, cause that guy is a mod and had the most insulting of all the posts. He, of al people here, should know better even if he is insulting another mod by telling him he is the dumbest person he has ever met or talked to.
However it has since been removed i see.
At any rate, reading all this os a waste of time…

I’m just going to say that when Dame got drafted a lot of people questioned the pick and thought maybe he was taken to soon.

Obviously that was a shot at me, since I am all three people on the internet just posting under different screen names.

Exactly. This is a Come to Jesus moment.

I wonder if Cronin will demand a trade after the meeting.

Sorry that's the last thing i want to watch now. Plus i've seen it before. Billy Ray Bates. Lots of fun, but not close to Dame.

You mean Billy Rate Bates without the coke issues. That is a big difference. Scoot looks like he will work his ass off to get better.
