Scoot reminds me more of Russell Westbrook. Which I think is kinda funny because most of the Blazers fan base have hated on Westbrook his entire career.

That's absolutely true. They could definitely live up to the hype. I hope for everybody's sake they do.

But I also think the odds of either of them surpassing Dame are slim. And Dame is already here and doing amazing stuff.

Folks are very confidently speaking about how great Scoot will be, and that it's just a matter of time. That's just not an opinion I share. I think we've seen better prospects bust even in our own organization. Nothing is 100%. The entertainment Dame is likely to provide me is as close to 100% as it comes in Blazers land.
 
I just want a resolution one way or another. This franchise can't move on until we get that.

If the resolution is: let's wait until the trade deadline 0r let's just wait one more year, I think I'm gonna lose it lol.
 
How great would it be if a trade got announced that brought in an all star and a role player... Dame is at the press conference talking about retiring a Blazer. I'm expecting a Dame trade and I'm bummed but it would be a great feeling going from this to what I would feel like if Dame came out and said he's here to stay.

I’m still holding out hope. I would think the discussion would include trade options that Cronin has on his radar, while looking for confirmation from Dame that those moves would be sufficient for him to stick with the team.
 
Tried to go back and search Nate Jones twitter.... but the advanced search option is garbage. I put in the time frame and it's still giving me tweets from 3 hours ago.

Of course. Billy was a dynamic player. But he didn't last. But he was a dunker and a shooter, and a good facilitator.

It all sounds like a lot of the smoke Olshey was blowing for years. I think Joe has tried more than Neil but at the end of the day they've gotten the same amount done.

I think Joe has tried but I can't help but wonder if the lack of ability to do so via trade and free agency probably continues to speak to how important the draft is for the Blazers

Just read an article saying Dame's meeting is to request re-signing Grant and signing Draymond Green....seems simple enough. Joe probably can clue Dame into any vets that he is working on signing.
 
I feel like if Joe doesn't have actual trades on the table that satisfy Dame, then Dame is going to ask out and I don't think Joe will have that.
 
I did find it interesting that in the Chris Haynes live he said that Dame doesn't need 2 or 3 all stars. He just wants some vets so he has a chance. Is that part still attainable? Guess we will see if Dame thinks so.
