Meeting between Dame and Cronin today

So help me out here....

This all started two years ago after our team fell on its face against an injured Nuggets team. Dame was awesome. The rest of the team was garbage. Dame was frustrated. Dame wanted help. If all he needed was a punchers chance or veterans, he would have been happy with that team.

Dame
CJ
Norm
Roco
Nurk
Melo
Kanter
Little
DJJ
Simons

That's a veteran team. :dunno:

So clearly, if that's not what he wants... he wants another bonafide star.

Terrible timing. They may be just taking it down to put a new one up with him and the new guys. You never now. But, they couldn't have waited to do that?

Are the Blazers setting Lillard up for a trade deadline move? Can Portland acquire more assets at the All-Star break, when teams are in the hunt for playoffs?

Portland needs Lillard to ask out. A mutually beneficial moment. Waiting around for the best deal possible is somewhat aggravating.

Dame is 33… if he plans to ask out he should do it now to maximize his chance for a title. Can’t afford to waste even half a season at his age.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say "Switzerland".

Yeah. I worked for a German company for 12 years and I was still like, “How the hell is that possible? It’s only moon here.” I’m well aware of the time difference because I dealt with it everyday for 12 years. But it still seemed wrong, even with his username.

And then I remembered I’m in Hawaii.

If we're taking this at face value, and Dame doesn't want to be on a 3 all-star team, then you can rule Miami out.

I also think what dame was saying months ago and not wanting another 19 year old is that he meant he didn't want another project that needs a shit ton of time to develop. Yes he wants vets but do you think if we got wemby hed want him traded? not for a fuckin second, he can see talent, I think it more comes down to scoot proving himself and impressing dame that he can contribute to this team at a high clip than anything else to keep dame around. I also wonder if joe and dame talked about who dame liked if we did get shit offers and who he would prefer should we actually use our pick.

It's all a farce. The whole team including Joe and Chauncey blamed this past yr on having too many youngins. Forget that we didnt have talent, balance or any semblance of strategy by thr coaching staff.

that Windhorst reporter guy coined the phrase, "Scoot might be better then any player they could trade for". The Blazers PR has stamped this quote to their forehead and are running around with it.

I'd rather wait a year for a good deal than make a crappy deal now.

Especially since Joe stacked the roster with young undrafted scrubs instead of getting 3-4 vet minimum guys that could play. Or have a single guy over the size of 6'9" so we didn't have to play extended minute with Grant/Watford at center when Nurk predictably missed time.

The team either planned to stealth tank the entire season or they're crazy incompetent.

It may be true. He didn’t say Scoot might be better than anyone on the trade market, just that he may be better than anybody they could realistically trade for given their assets.

Suddenly they looked competent getting decent players from the G-league after the tank was set in motion.
And they knew the prize for the lottery winner, and that the 2023 draft overall could be a good one.

Vets like Tony Snell, Cody Zeller and Ben McLemore?

Fuck "Might Be"... HE BETTER BE.

How are they relevant to last season? Yeah a few mediocre vets like Cody Zeller would've helped a lot when Nurk was injured, we started Eubanks and had no backup. Cody played in the finals.

Chad and Dwight are 100% convinced that Dame is asking out.

Not based on any reports. They just are sure that's what is happening.

Perhaps Dame and his agent presented an idea or two for possible trade packages, three-team proposals, etc.

Showing his loyalty all the way - including best trade options to help himself AND the organization!

Same feeling from a fan

Off subject, but this is what is wrong with the media. Is he really media? Has he been to J school? How to cover the team going forward? Seriously? Every day is a new day, hopefully unlike the previous. You report on an event, a happening or what is about to happen. You do not need direction. The story writes itself. You report it. Who, what, when, where, why and how. Damn, poor guy.

There are so few actual journalists anymore. They are all mostly about click bait, or politically slanted.
