Ok I thought I was taking crazy pills. Heat fans are high on their own supply. He’s so bad dude. Sooooooo bad.
He’s an overpaid three point specialist who has a shit 3p%.Ok I thought I was taking crazy pills. Heat fans are high on their own supply.

The main issue is that he has been trending down in the past few seasons. Last system was terrible. Not a huge fan of DR but his 3p% percentage is not shit......... Career 40% and he takes a lot of them off the dribble.
I was looking at some 3-way trades, and if taking DR to get a center like Jarrett Allen I would do it. I still don't see many options where we get a decent player without taking on a bad contract. I think I could talk myself into him for two years if it is the only way.
The more I go back to it, the more I think there's zero miracle construction of this Miami deal that works for Portland in the near term.

I don't think the Clippers give up that much for Harden.
Agreed. The more I go back to it, the more I think there's zero miracle construction of this Miami deal that works for Portland in the near term.

Yeah the only way it can make sense is if Herro gets multiple first round picks or something. I just don't see that as being likely at all. He sits out and the team goes from the underperforming all year losing a playin game to making the finals. That doesn't have a bunch of teams excited to give up assets to acquire him.
Below is basically about the max that Miami can offer. Yeah the Blazers can involve 3rd or 4th teams - but they are going to want equal or more likely additional value to be involved. This is all the talent the Blazers can get. A 3rd or 4th team isn't some magical scenario where more assets or talent is created out of nothing which seems to be what is often implied.
Is this enough value for us to trade Dame? If it is then yeah maybe we explore adding additional teams to get a better fit. If this is not enough value then all Miami trades that could realistically happen are dead on arrival.

They have multiple takers for Herro.Yup. I think the holdup right now is a couple possibilities.
Either way, I think ultimately the best we're going to be able to do is Lowry, Jovic, Jaquez, (maybe) Martin, and 3-4 picks. Plus a few swaps and maybe some seconds.
- Miami is being stingy with their meager assets
- Miami can't find a taker for Herro and we refuse to take him.
Will any of those takers give up anything of value for him? They have multiple takers for Herro.

That's exactly how you get shortchanged. There's a difference between being a willing seller and a reluctant one. All things being equal, we would be thrilled to keep Dame. We'd figure out how to get minutes for everyone in the backcourt. If you ask them to give you their best offer they will low ball which they have done.
If you are Portland and you want to send Dame to Miami ask them for what you want in return and see what they counter with. We are the ones selling not them.
Because it's never "That's our price and we're sticking to it." It becomes a game of seeing how low they can knock us off of our asking price.I think you make some valid points, for sure. Since Dame is under contract and if they dont want to peddle him, the why not establish a price? If they say, we want established an all star player and pics, nothing less, it put's the pressure on Miami and at the same time the rest of league knows that we want an Allstar player. So blow our socks off if you want him. You can always come down if the market doesn't respond.
I dont want to sell my house but if someone seemed like they must have it, Id ask a ridiculous high price.
Minny is in a pickle regarding their big men (Gobert, Reid and Towns) and KAT is the odd man out. Also, that KAT contract is an albatross. They're going to have to pay to rid themselves of it. They need to rebalance their roster almost as much as we need to do. I could see them playing a role as a facilitator in any trade.I think Minny would want some picks. That's pretty bad value on KAT. They had supposedly reached out to us about the #3, so it would be a pretty massive step down if they accepted Herro and Martin. Of course, their GM is horrible so maybe they do it?
I want that 2024 pick from Miami though, as well. They need to give OKC the 2026 and give us 2024/2028/2030.
Let's be honest, I think there's a huge overlap between M'eat and F'L*aker "fans". Casual, fairweather, and fickle.Heat fans are starting to make Lakers fans seem grounded and reasonable.
Oh, dear.I want Orlando Robinson.
He can be traded in September. He had a fantastic summer league. He's on a stupid cheap contract. We should wait until he can be traded.
Oh, dear.
You do realize there's a fan on another board raving about Michael Devoe and talking about his amazing summer league, right?
We're talking past one another.Again.... he's an asset. If we end up having to deal with them, I want everything they have. I'm not saying he's a star.
We're talking past one another.
