Half on here complained he couldn’t shoot, and the other half bitched about the size of his contract and overbearing father!

Well we could be the Oregon 59ers.

I know some of you will want 69ers but the state was established in 1859 so i guess either will do?

At any rate i believe the team should be Oregon's team and not just Portland.

I actually like the 59ers, because it does have a bit of history in its name. I think someone has suggested Portland Chinook, and in a way I like that as an option.

They could go the route of the NFL team in Houston and call them selves the "Portland Oregonians".

but that'd be lame. hehe

The Portland Rivals? Or is that grade school quality as well?

If your team name would make for a good bowling league team name....well, you might want to rethink it.

Yes, because the Brewers doesn't sound like something a group of middle-aged, slightly overweight, beer drinking men wouldn't think to name their bowling league team.

Sure.

Never said that there aren't dumb names for pro sports teams. Brewers, Raptors, Pelicans, Thunder, Sounders, Galaxy..those are all names that are kind of dumb.

Brewers makes all kinds of sense

Pelican is the state bird of Louisiana

Sounders is after the Puget sound

Thunder makes sense with OKC in tornado alley

Reign makes sense since it rains here a lot. Still a dumbass name.

Meadowlark makes sense since it's the state bird. Still a dumbass name.

Cascades makes sense since we're near the cascades. Still a dumbass name.

Storm make sense since it storms here (at least during the off season). Still a dumbass name.

Portland Breakers.

Ride the wave! LOL

Yes, those are dumb names. The others aren't.

My guess is this....

Pelicans because of sweep

Sounders because of Timber fan

Thunder because of Blazer fan

Brewers because Cub fan

Nope. Haven't liked the Pelicans name since they made the change (I actually like the team).

Don't like the Sounders because it's a bit cheesy of a name. Same is true of Timbers actually *gasp*. I actually liked the name Sonics, Thunderbirds is kind of a cool name and I like the name Mariners (and I liked Pilots before that). So it has nothing to do with liking the Timbers or being a fan of Portland sports teams.

Thunder is dumb because they should've done something like Bison (tho there is a college with that nickname so it makes sense why they didn't go with that) or Buffalo.

Brewers is just kind of a corny name. Nothing to do with being a Cubs fan (I'm not actually).

But nice effort though, you should get a little ribbon.

As long as I'm the only one who gets one. None of those stupid ass participation ribbons

Galaxy makes sense because LA believes they are the center of the Universe.
