The stadium will have cushioned seats??? I might become a season ticket holder then!

I want our own name. Pioneers is nice to me

Portland Pioneers sounds great.

Naming a team that will never come. Love you guys

Pessimist...

No way. You don't know anything.
Well honestly i have known quite a bit about this but still i cannot tell you with any certainty there will be a team here in Portland. It's really weird how all this has played out. Everything has pretty much stopped. I think they were banking on at least a partial baseball season. Now even that seems unlikely with a couple teams now showing infections.

I think if anything Covid really helped Portland’s chances by almost a lot. And if the season gets cancelled like it looks like it will it almost assures as expansion is happening.

Baseball is losing TONS of money. They are officially about to be desperate for any influx of cash. So why the hell wouldn’t they be begging for that expansion fee

Im a baseball nut and played in college but the game is a hard sell now to younger folks especially on the west coast as there is so much to do in summer.
We should hear something with regards expansion or relocation soon, I would think?

You guys are complaining about this like Covid never happened, and the Portland Diamond people control the timeline.

The word i have heard is the conversations about considering Portland stopped fairly abruptly during this last summer when riots consumed the city.
Heck they still have riots nearly weekly and look at the state of the city right now? How is that going to attract a major league team in any sport?

I think it hurts unfortunately, as perception is influential.

These complaints were around well before covid.

Honestly that sucks. but honestly, I doubted Portland was seriously in the running anyways.

Why would riots hurt their feelings? So are the blazers and timbers going to pack their bags and flee the riots?

Yeah they were. Some heavy hitters in my crowd were doing pre jobs and were asking for logistics for both sites. They even started reserving tugs/barges and stocking steel. They don't do that unless they were in the discussion. Now "Running"? I honestly don't know? Portland has tried this before so i guess that always puts them in the running but that might not be serious contender? One thing is for certain Portland needs another large venue and it could do a bunch more than just baseball.

If Seattle can get a NHL team, then Portland should get a baseball team. Same, same...right?! :dunno:

Portland needs an already existing stadium that was too small to keep an nba team and utilize that and convert it to a baseball stadium.

Easy peasy
