I never understood why she didn't have a bigger career. Her debut album was considered a cult classic and she has one of most powerful rock voices I've ever heard. I know she got terribly sick about the time she was starting a solo career. Also, her reputation in the music industry was ummmm..... one of difficulty. Linda carved out a nice niche though as s songwriter. Writing that Pink hit around the hook to Spirit's Fresh Garbage was genius.

This is my shit right here. I don't listen to her every day, or every month. But when I do I'm transported to paradise.

Filmed here in Portland. A transplant, helping to keep Portland weird!

Loved this...reminds me a bit of Shawn Colvin

I love the fusion of the folky banjo with dance music. It's nicely layered music, with tempo changes and cool subtle details. And yeah, I definitely see the singer's voice being similar to Shawn Colvin's.

Some Hidden Gems.....

Not for everyone but hey these woman deserve more recognition for their talent. Maybe you will become a fan of one or two of them.

I used to get off a gig in the wee hours and howl this tune at the moon with my drummer..classic

One of rock's great What Ifs..... What if the Rising Sons had released their shelved album. They all went on to other things...... Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder with their solo careers. Ed Cassidy founded Spirit. Their version of Statesboro Blues was one of the first rock versions. Here's another song that gives us a taste of what might have been....
