Guarantee our new owners will be doing the same.

They are rich. That's what they're going to do.
New Owner lives in Texas I believe...already a red state and a tax haven. Phil is a local with Oregon as his political target.

The GOP is gutting education so in my opinion, they don't get to play the literacy card...they actually want to discourage academia from American culture and the science it brings to education in favor of theological culture where one book is the constitution and one man is the "Lord" When the separation of church and state is gone, you've become the Taliban.

Sorry but I don’t buy the argument that this is a republican problem. Grades K thru 12 are funded primarily by local and state governments. Oregon is a blue state and has been for many years.

Yeah our ROI as a state is horrible.

Congratulations on not thinking
I’m sure you realize that Oregon has the 13th highest property tax in the nation and the 5th highest state income tax in the country. But the education problem in Oregon is all the republicans fault, right?

Link?

Oregon has the lowest sales tax.

I didn’t mention sales tax. I wish we had a sales tax and we got rid of state income tax.

Oregon spends $19,300 per student per year. That's top 15 in the United States.

I don't think spending is the problem in Oregon. Mississippi is at $13,000 per student and are tops on some of those charts.

Exactly. Many states have sales tax and income tax. Leaving out that oregon has no sales tax is misleading. Also, sales tax is punitive towards those with the least resources. However, sales tax is good for collecting tax when people visit as tourists. Too bad folks try to say nobody would visit oregon and/or portland because it sucks.

Your link about income tax is misleading too. The majority of Oregonians are going to pay 9%. The link you provided shares the highest tax rate someone can get to if they make over a certain amount.

Your link on property tax is based on figures from realtor.com. i'm not sure how they came up with their figures but I trust this website more in regards to taxes.

That lists Oregon with the 24th based on effective tax rate in 2023.
