Guarantee our new owners will be doing the same.Big reason I didn't want him buying the Blazers. He's been trying to turn Oregon red all his career.
Yeah really sports at a professional level shouldn’t exist but here we are. Phil Knight is an old man trying to buy his ticket to hell.Guarantee our new owners will be doing the same.
They are rich. That's what they're going to do.
New Owner lives in Texas I believe...already a red state and a tax haven. Phil is a local with Oregon as his political target.Guarantee our new owners will be doing the same.

Need to do something new. We're failing on multiple levels.
Well something better would be new so…The approach should be to try something better, not just something "new".

They’re the ones who got us here in the first placeBut the republican party certainly isn't new.

Sorry but I don’t buy the argument that this is a republican problem. Grades K thru 12 are funded primarily by local and state governments. Oregon is a blue state and has been for many years.

I’m not sure if you referencing those ballot measures to show that it’s a republican problem or not. I certainly don’t think it shows that.Oregon Ballot Measure 5 - Wikipedia

Exactly. Many states have sales tax and income tax. Leaving out that oregon has no sales tax is misleading. Also, sales tax is punitive towards those with the least resources. However, sales tax is good for collecting tax when people visit as tourists. Too bad folks try to say nobody would visit oregon and/or portland because it sucks.Link for income tax:

I didn’t mention sales tax. I wish we had a sales tax and we got rid of state income tax.
Actually I would counter that your property tax link is what is mid-leading. The ranking of 24th it shows is based on a percent of the home’s value. The more accurate representation is average amount paid imo. That is what my link shows. Homes on the West Coast cost more than most other places in the country.Exactly. Your link about income tax is misleading too. The majority of Oregonians are going to pay 9%. The link you provided shares the highest tax rate someone can get to if they make over a certain amount.
Your link on property tax is based on figures from realtor.com. i'm not sure how they came up with their figures but I trust this website more in regards to taxes.

Property Taxes by State and County, 2025
