Watching the Kings struggle with the Wolves and the Lakers competing with the team with the best record in the league, really makes me impatient with Joe. This is the season that the league is the most wide open it's been in a long time and there's no telling when it will be again. So if there is any way to put a highly competitive roster around Dame, that works in Chauncey's system... waiting until the off season to make that happen shouldn't be the mindset.

Did the trade deadline pass? No? Then this was a waste of a post.

The fact the MVP vote can swing from one game to the next proves it's fucking stupid to talk about it until the end of the year.
Is there any evidence that actual votes do swing on one game in January? Twitter and message board votes don't count.

impatient with what?

I mean, what trades have happened so far where you can say Cronin missed a great opportunity? Hachimura sure isn't a great opportunity. Certainly not great enough to spend any of Portland's limited assets. He's sure not capable of moving any needle

I get being impatient...I've been impatient since the Dame/Aldridge team fell apart....actually, since the 4thQ collapse in the WCF against the Lakers 23 years ago. Maybe that's not right....been impatient since it became apparent there wasn't one healthy knee among the four that Roy/Oden had. The 2007 draft lottery seemed like a high point. Then, a few month later we were all learning about micro-fracture surgery

I got you beat, I've been impatient since game 1 of the 1991 WCFS.

I had to look up what "Triple H" is? I still cannot figure out why he was fined?
Can someone break this down into terms that an old man would understand? Please?
I guess because it’s just an obscene gesture.

oh yeah....I've been impatient since 1978, the year after the Blazers won a championship and were looking like a dynasty with a 50-10 record....then Walton got injured and the whole damn thing fell completely apart

Not impatient in a condemning way, at this point. Just, I guess, less willing to have patience past the deadline would have been a better way of putting it but you can see how that's a form of impatience with him. I'm not mad at Joe yet but after seeing just how elite Dame is, right now, I could see myself being really pissed if we don't make major efforts to put ourselves in a position to take advantage of Dame's greatness.

So what does it mean and why the fine? I obviously don't watch wrestling.
IIRC, they're making an X on their crotch and the move is accompanied by the phrase "suck it". As to whether or not Embiid said those words or not, IDK, but that's the drama...

I think they consider one to be a lewd gesture, since it's implying the words, "suck it" with the framing of what you're telling the person to suck.
So it's purely subjective? I honestly don't really like showboating but i understand it. NBA is a business and it sells.

I don't think I would fine anyone for any of these actions but to pretend to not see the difference is being a bit obtuse. I also think there is a difference between a celebration because you're excited with your own accomplishment so it's aimed inward even thought it's an outward act and a celebration meant to demean or provoke your opponent. I do see how there is a fine line there though.

I don't know? That LeBron show he puts on is with his mouth running. Do they pay attention to what he is saying? Seems like because Curry does it all the time the refs let it go.
Not an Embiid fan as i understand he is a jerk quite a bit of the time but they got to be consistent?

Sure, like I said there is a fine line. I actually like some of the showboating because it makes an exciting moment more exciting, like Dame flexing after dunking and don't like others because they just feel lame like Steph's airplane thing he's always doing like a fucking 8 year old.

This is different though because it's leaning towards something like flipping off your opponent. Whether it's the DX version that Embiid did or just the regular crotch shop where your hands land on either side, I doubt any league would be cool with this because the gesture when it originated was objectively telling someone to suck your dick... it was a playful way of doing it but that's what it meant. Just like the middle finger means "fuck you".

The impressive GS front office sure did blow it on the Wiseman draft pick.

Yeah that was a deep draft. They drafted for need and missed out on a lot of good players. Of course, we traded ours for not much in return.

That didn't work out well for them at all. But Wiseman is not without skills. There are some things he can do that are quite unique for a big man. But the Warriors have been in a title window and don't really feel they can wait on young players to develop. Also, it is reported that Draymond berates the hell out of this kid and he is quite intimidated when he gets on the floor with him.

But he has potential. Watch his mobility, and how he runs the court after a block.....was the first player to the other end after blocking a shot at the opponents rim. And he actually dunks the ball quite often around the rim....or from the bottom of the FT circle towards the end of the video, and he can shoot the '3' a little. It was a blowout loss to the Nets, but there are some things on there many big men can't do in a pick up scrimmage, let alone in a game. He may never live up to the #2 pick level that he was, but in the right situation, I think he can show more than he has with the Warriors.
