Wow - John Henson has skinny legs.

Dominique Jones is like Shabazz Muhammad was supposed to be. Plus he looks like Reggie Evans' mini-me.

Nate Wolters perpetually looks like he's been up for 50 straight hours.

Can't wait to watch my first summer league game at 5. I'll be the reason we win.

We've won every half that Victor Claver has played in, so if he plays and we win that could be the reason. OTOH, it could just be you!

2) Lopez has gone without injury for the past two seasons. He has a more prolonged history of health than of injury. Lopez has played more than 82% of available games in his 5 years, and just 4 fewer games than Nic Batum over the same timeframe.

And, keep in mind that not all the games Lopez "missed" were due to injury. Early in his career, Phoenix was stacked with veteran front court players, like Shaq, Amar'e and Boris Diaw. So, like any 20-year old rookie playing behind a bunch of veterans, there were some DNP-CDs in there.

The most encouraging thing is not only have his minutes gone up, but so has his overall production. Many players (perhaps most) see a dip in per minute production when they move from a back-up getting 10 - 15 minutes a game to a starter getting 25 - 30. Not so for Lopez. Last season he started all 82 games, played more than twice as many minutes as any previous year, AND had his best year. That's an encouraging sign.

Jonas V. is a monster!

In terms of potential I think he's on par with Drummond.

Drummond vs. Valanciunas would be great to watch. Both of them might foul out even of Summer League.

Leonard should be forced to watch JV play on a tape loop. ML has, if anything, a more impressive build and is definitely more athletic, but JV is just a thug. (He also has very sturdy legs, which probably helps.) What he clearly has over Drummond is (a) attitude and (b) offense. But he'll never be close to Drummond's defensive potential.

I am starting to worry that CJ will be nothing more than a chucker at the NBA level. He looks pretty good in Summer League occasionally, but overall he apprears to be a volume scorer,

I haven't seen a lick, though I've followed the threads...

The most important thing in ratbal--I mean, Summer League-- is having a PG that can run an offense and get the ball to the rest of the team in position to do well.
The next (assuming you don't have a great #1) is having a dominant big man that can beast in the paint--easy buckets and lots of rebounds.

We have neither. We have a collection of wing guys and fringy bigs who will never see the court (outside of garbage time) without at least two of Lillard/LMA/Batum there with them. I'm not worried at all about our guys showing they can go one-on-five or their inability to gel on D. So CJ got exposed as a PG that gets flustered if you throw a double-team at, and he only has Will Barton and Freeland to pass to. OK. So Leonard has fallen in love with a 3pt shot. Whatever.

I'm looking forward to the Opening Night lineup of Watson/CJ/Barton/Freeland/Leonard. That means that there are 2 minutes left in the game against the L*kers and we're up by 35.

Based on the same sample size, it appears that TRob may be a volume rebounder.

But the reality is circumstances will change during the real season. They will get better and so will their competition

CJ is definitely not a point guard. He can handle the ball, but he's a point guard like Jamal Crawford is a point guard. He actually reminds me of Crawford a lot (except for the ego).

I think Robinson has the potential. I see it there, he just needs a good coach.

We need Ewing! Too bad he's working for another team.

The thing is, I don't know if I see Robinson as a serious scorer in the league. He could be a Brian Grant though, and I would love that. We've sorely missed having someone like Grant on the team. He needs to work on his defense, but his rebounding is very similar to BG. He just needs to develop that mid-range jumper.

After seeing CJ's Crawfordish ways, which I don't think will be all bad under the right coach. Remember, Stotts got the most out of Jason Terry, I'm even more convinced that Andre Miller would be a really big help here, especially for Aldridge.

I know he's not a shooter, but getting him 20mpg next to Lillard and McCollum would really help our team a lot.

I agree that I doubt he will be a scoring type PF. I also agree that we need that "Brian Grant" type big; which I think T Rob could get to eventually.

I feel pathetic even asking this, but is there a place to see Summer League stats?

Holy crap! I looked at points leaders and saw McCollum is averaging around six more shots than the next closest player. .377 for the tourney? Yikes!

Edit: Mags beat me to it.

Oh its 37.7%? Even worse!

It's not pathetic at all. They don't make it easy. Here's the one for Vegas: http://www.nba.com/summerleague/2013/statistics/las_vegas/index.html
You can click at the top of the page for the one for Orlando.

Thanks! (Actually, although it's true I couldn't find them, the pathetic part was actually caring about Summer League stats. But I'm not ashamed!)

Wow: Onuaku is averaging nearly 10 rebounds in under 18 mpg. I wonder where he'll end up.
Schröder is leading in assists. I wish we could've landed him as well. I wonder if he'll end up better than CJ - he's only 19, after all.
Gal Mekel is third, and apparently he's quite the showman.
One way in which CJ is just like Lillard: he's leading the entire league in minutes played...

Huh - if you look at the Orlando numbers, Cedric Jackson was second in assists playing for Miami. Maybe if we were trying to win we'd actually start him and CJ in the backcourt.

How can you tell?

I keep getting told it takes time for a center to develop and to be patient

Valanciunas is also averaging 5 TOs/game and 6 fouls/game. Numbers don't mean shit when fouls don't matter, and Jonas is lost on defense. In a real game, he'd be on the bench with those fouls and turnovers.

Are we really surprised that a 6'3 pure SG is a volume scorer? I think thats the only model of 6'3 SG that exists.

The volume shooter comments should have green font. I can't tell if you guys are serious or just plain...........

Of course he is going to shoot a lot with this roster.
