It's getting uglier:

OSU/WSU are making decisions that will only make the 10 other schools more hard-line in their stance. If this gets kicked to California where the Pac-12 is headquartered, it's not going to be good news, at all, for the Pac-2

Oregon was monumentally fucking stupid to schedule OSU under the terms they did...just dumb

No, you're going to tie this up in the courts for years and screw yourselves.
This literally works here.

Dante Moore on official visit.

Not sure why. Didn’t he go through that process last year before he committed?

that's a fairly significant ruling that was likely inevitable

the court have pretty clearly stated that athletes are entitled to maximize any NIL opportunities they have in college and that the NCAA can not infringe upon those rights

if that's the new law, then the NCAA requiring a player who has transferred once already to have to sit-out a year if they transfer a 2nd time is a pretty clear infringement

NCAA can apparently read the tea leaves on the transfer rules:

so then, what we have is a year-to-year free agency in college sports. Everybody essentially plays on a series of 1-year contracts until their eligibility has expired and are free to 'sign' with a new team every year

it's chaos, cutthroat, and the wild west, but it's the market working like it does with every 'industry' that doesn't have an anti-trust exemption and a CBA

New OC Stein would be a pretty good reason. Word now is that Oregon is his expected transfer destination

STOMP

For Oregon to be able to land by Gabriel and Moore in the same cycle would be wild!

one of the top ILB in college football last season. The starter and leader of the Georgia defense who Lanning recruited to Georgia. Have no clue if Oregon is going after him or if he'd be interested, but he's one of those SEC LB's that make that conference so tough

**********************************************************************

Duck freshman RB Dante Dowdell has entered the portal. So it may not be a coincidence that Jay Harris and 215lb RB from SW Missouri st. is visiting Oregon right now:

this guy has speed and power

****************************************************************************

Ducks are being visited by two defensive backs this weekend

that are also being visited by Derrick Harmon. He was Michigan State's staring nose tackle this year. 6'5 and 360lbs

they still hope to get A&M's Walter Nolen to transfer, but he's visiting Miss St this weekend and is from Mississippi.

I love 215lb bell cow RB’s. Would be nice to have that kind of back along with James’ speed.

Oregons track record under Lanning with transfers I have faith they know exactly what they’re doing.

I'm Surprised by Dowdell transfering
I was bummed by that one as well. He seems to have a real high ceiling. I understand from his perspective, he's got a guy in his own class he seemed to be behind on the depth chart, on top of James/Noah likely returning, and he probably wants to play!

It was always hard for me to believe that Liamr was ever ahead of Dowdell. The eye test suggested otherwise. But that is one good thing about the portal......if you do lose a player it is pretty easy to replace them with someone else. Jay Harris would certainly do that.

Dowdell was ahead in my book, but the coaches almost always put in Limar before Dowdell in garbage time.

Not specific to the Ducks, more college football in general, but liked a lot of what Chip had to say here.
(Also, am assuming the tweet won't actually show up, twitter has been wonky on here the last few days it seems.)

I think the idea of separating football from the other sports has merit. Won't be able to divide basketball from football though since all the media GOR's include provisions and payments for basketball money supplementing football money

It would be hard to get the conferences to agree to any kind of football merger though. The Big-10 and the SEC have accrued a lot of power. They won't give that up willingly

Title IX really complicates things too

It’s also a good thing about practices. They know who is a keeper and who could do better elsewhere
