Yeah 97% is higher than Id expect, but 90% seems what I might expect if I had zero knowledge of the situation.

This OSU deal where more money goes to Blueprint than athletes is insane.

there will be costs for organization, management, and process for sure. Can't have 5-20M coming into a collective without oversight. I'd agree that about 10% seems right....might be a little high, and I would think the percentage would drop a little as the volume increases. But WSU at 3%....maybe; but I'd be a little skeptical how they calculated.

I know that it's been run on essentially a volunteer basis to this point with 8400 hours of volunteer work logged this year, while expenses like legal fees, websites etc kept to a minimum. Obviously as the funds grow, the need for more oversight is needed and my guess is that number comes down to around the 90% range is the goal, but nothing like what is happening at OSU.

Very cool to hear for WSU.

Also, I think some minimal expense could be incurred by the school, they have plenty of other revenue coming in, so if that ~5-10% or whatever of fees needed is just paid by the school football program they could have nearly 100% of this NIL fundraising directed to the athletes. Maybe not for OSU immediately while this conference transition is still going on but eventually that could be a goal.

The OSU football revenue is totally different than a nonprofit or such which is 100% funded from only donations and obviously needs a percentage for oversight.

just looking at it from an outside perspective, it's hard to justify keeping Barnes in his job. But maybe that's a too-heavy football perspective. But it sure looks like a big majority of Beaver fans want Barnes fired

just a note: under the new rules, 5 days after a new head coach is announced, a 15 day transfer portal is opened. I'm not sure if this applies to an interim head coach

Ouch. So they are blaming HIM for the team’s losing? Don’t know enough about the situation, but none of this goes on the lack of talent or obvious need for better recruiting? Hate when the head coach gets sole blame.

He is partly the fall guy, but also I'm sure there's more to this than just "we need a distraction" kind of firing.

However, if Barnes isn't given the shaft, it kinda feels like a distraction. Albeit, probably necessary.
