My thoughts exactly after reading that.
Loved Akey when I was on campus at WSU, guy has a passion and enthusiasm that is infectious! He was always great to me as an aspiring journalist and hope he hasn't changed. He's a great choice as interim HC and just hope he has the team ready to play, outside of the two weeks he has to go against his former team of course.
I'm not penciling in wins against any team. I bet Portland State would give the Beavs a run for the money. Hell even some great Highschool teams might play them even.If Beavs can't beat FCS Lafayette Saturday, they have fallen very far indeed
Yeah hope we can beat Lafayette and Sam Houston so we at least get 1-2 wins. Nothing is a MUST win. Its a throw away year. Sure any win would be nice but I wouldn't be shocked if one of those was a loss.Lafayette and Sam Houston are MUST wins ... Tulsa and the two Wazzu games are toss ups in my mind. Still a chance to go 5-7 which looks a lot better than 3-9.
Fire Barnes.Very good article from Eggers!

On Robb Akey, Bray, Barnes and the mess that is Beaver football — Kerry Eggers
CORVALLIS — It seems odd to say, but the Robb Akey era at Oregon State begins Saturday night when the Beavers play host to Lafayette in a game of tackle football at Reser Stadium.www.kerryeggers.com
Well avoiding an 0-12 season I'm sure is a must for the players ... no one wants to have that on their resume! I know ESPN's predictive model isn't the best but our game in Corvallis is 55/45 in favor of the Cougs and the one in Pullman is 66/34, and they have you as the favorites against Tulsa. Yea winning out is a massive long shot but it's still possible.Yeah hope we can beat Lafayette and Sam Houston so we at least get 1-2 wins. Nothing is a MUST win. Its a throw away year. Sure any win would be nice but I wouldn't be shocked if one of those was a loss.
Tulsa and Wazzu are going to be massive favorites so I don't see where you come up with this tossup idea. I doubt there is even a 5% chance of the Beavs winning out for 5-7. It might be less than 1%.
Behave yourself Sly!Beaver pride!

I think the OSU fanbase might enjoy rushing the field more than other in the countryDid the Beavs fans rush the field when beating an FCS team?
Might be the only win of the season so I get it - just amazing how far our program has fallen in 4 years.
The guys with their shirts off is a thing that started at Oklahoma State last week when the stadium started to clear out as the Cowboys were getting killed. There was one guy sitting in a section with is shirt off that started with a dumb bet, it started to grow as others made their way to him and it took on a life of it's own.Did any of you actually watch the game? I have no idea how it looked on TV as I was there.
There were a ton of college kids taking their shirts off and throwing them around their heads like a helicopter. Over time, the college kids mostly left then it was a big crowd of middle school/ high school looking kids lingering around doing the same.
The game had some of the most energy out of the entire season because Johnson was electric.
It was surprising how much energy their was that late. Not surprising to me they rushed the field for fun. It has been a long year and with a new direction, there is a sliver of hope we haven't had since the beginning of the season.
It looked like a couple hundred students. Good for them.Did the Beavs fans rush the field when beating an FCS team?
