You say never bring anything to this thread. Well Brent Barry just sat with me in the press room for dinner and we caught up. Told him how big of a lifelong Beavs fan I was! 🤣

Why he was there for the game? Amazon isn't doing it.

Sounds like the Beavs are parting ways with Blueprint Sports.
according to Crapzano. I didnt read the article, just saw the headline, I refuse to click on anything associated with that douche.

If the deal was good like your AD originally claimed, why get out of it?

He needs to go.

If he's only doing this to appease fans, that's even worse and he needs to go.

Former rowing coach files multimillion-dollar lawsuit against Scott Barnes, Oregon State

It feels like Barnes has been at OSU for decades, and it's not even been 10 years.

the new Pac-12 is going thru the process of trying to come up with a 2026 football schedule. It's not easy with just 8 teams

the big problem is the non-conference schedule as teams everywhere else have filled their schedules over the next 3-4 seasons. It would be a challenge for adding 3 OOC games, let alone 4 (with each team having an annual home and home) or 5 (with a 7 game conference schedule)

complicating matters is that, as of yet, the format for the CFP hasn't been set yet since the Big-10 and SEC kind of torpedoed the talks. The Big-10 won a big concession when they forced the SEC to add a 9th game to the conference schedule

but during the CFP talks there was discussion that G6 teams wouldn't be eligible for the CFP if they did not play at least one P4 team in their OOC schedule. Which may explain why the Beavers were willing to schedule a 6 year home-&-home with the Ducks (doesn't explain why the Ducks were that dumb).

prior to the Pac-12's raid on the MWC, there were talks about simply merging the Pac-2 with the MWC. IIRC it had advanced to the stage there was even consideration of a 'promotion-and-relegation' process for distribution of media revenue. But OSU/WSU were insisting that they be exempt which led to teams like Boise St. and San Diego St insisting they be exempt as well. So that fell apart.

a whole lot of the struggles of WSU/OSU could have been avoided by simply merging with the MWC, calling it the Pac-'X' and then going after the teams both conferences have added since then. And a promotion/relegation scheme could have left OSU/WSU with a fairly equivalent cut of media revenue as they will be getting in the Pac-8, WITHOUT sacrificing the large chunks of their settlement money from the old Pac-12 they've had to send to the MWC. Hubris strikes again

Such a con man - even Neil Olshey would have a hard time selling the crap Barnes has done.

Barnes probably thinking of who he can fire next and blame to hold onto his job another year.

I'm starting to question the President and OSU board that they even allow Barnes to stay in power. Can't think of a worse era in Beavers 100+ year history. Even if Barnes isn't directly responsible for some of it - he sure as hell didn't prevent the crap going on.

The guy literally tries to tell us how great he is at hiring coaches more than any AD in the country while he's firing a failed coach that he hired.

Maybe Barnes has a bunch of dirt on the President or others that led to the collapse of the Pac12 and Beavers getting stuck without a spot. Can't think of any good reason but scandals such as that they would keep him in his job so long.
