Really? Like when I provided proof of Babbitt's success against NCAA tournament teams today? What is your factual backup for your position in this thread?

Yes, exactly like that.

What is your factual backup for your position in this thread?

The factual backup for my position in this thread that your position lacks factual backup is your failure to post any factual backup in this thread.

anyone else think that there was some kind of non-disclose agreement with Patterson's "stepping down" in 2007 that expired with his successor being gone? I mean, I haven't heard of or from Patterson in 3 years, and all of a sudden he's pressing more flesh and giving more interviews than a political candidate.

I agree...the timing is curious. It could be a simple case that the media didnt reach out until now, and he never sought to get his version out mass-wide. Why now, would the media pursue him? Maybe because they knew Pritchard's end was imminent...like any day..and interviewing the predessessor might have some insight and value? I dont know. Its a question worth investigating.

Fascinating stuff. If Pritchard actually was conspiring to get himself and Penn promoted through a deception, then Paul Allen is taking the high road by not revealing the reason for the firing. It would be easy to make Pritchard look like a sleazeball, but instead he is just letting him go without comment.

Thats another interesting dilemma. It can be explained he's taking the high road....or maybe he just feels it's none of our damn business. I think if you polled the fans(his customers) they would say high road be damned, WE WANT THE TRUTH. I guess as long as the team continues to wins, history shows us there really arent any ramifications from ticket revenue standpoint for helping to make a mess of this situation. However, I think the real concern is will it negatively impact his ability to make future outstanding hires? Is he damaging his reputation as an employer to work under?

Patterson reveals the GM alumni or community is a pretty small group, who communicate with each other. If KP truly overstepped himself, they'll know and maybe assess Allen differently than what the rest of us think and feel. Maybe he isnt doing himself damage, in other words.

John Gabriel did a nice job with the Magic. I would be happy to have him as a replacement.

Yeah, me too. Petrie or Gabriel would be excellent. One thing that left me unsettled about the Pritchard reign was the possible lack of checks and balances. You had mid-30 guys being led by a mid-30 guy, all super-talented, thin on war experience, and super-loyal to each other. Kind of a fraternity atmosphere. Not necessarily wrong, but what opposite side perspectives were being made? From Miller--the apparel guru? Allen--a super fan at best? Breaking up the fraternity and bringing in a new House President far removed from college might not be a bad thing. I'm totally against bringing in another team's number 2 guy for this exact reason. They're typically young and untested.
