LOL, really? Personally, I find it exhausting. I dunno....maybe I'm just reaching my tolerance level for it all. It's kind of like the news: I switched it off two years ago, and I've been so much happier since. If it wasn't some child being murdered or something, it was some overseas conflict or political bickering of some sort. Completely depressing.

So a couple months ago, I just abandoned the OT completely. I pop in one day every couple of weeks just to check what threads there are, but nothing more than that. Been happier ever since.

Dude, how you feel about the OT Forum now? That's how I felt about the OT Forum through the entire Obama Administration. You conservatives complained about EVERYTHING for EIGHT YEARS! Now we liberals are having our turn to complain about every little thing the president does. So yeah, the OT forum has always been mostly trash; it's just my kind of trash now instead of your kind of trash :ghoti:

As far as that tattoo photo is concerned.....it reminds me of when my father and I went to the last 49er/Rams game at Candlestick back in 2013. The day before the game, he got a tattoo done by his tattoo artist and good friend in San Francisco, while I was diagnosed the day before we left town with both internal and external hemorrhoids. Fuck, they hurt so bad....

We had a beautiful hotel room, but between his bleeding tattoo and my hemorrhoids, that bathroom looked like a serial killer's playground or something with all the bloody towels we left there.

Fun times.

I can't personally speak for the whole 8 years Obama was in office, since I got here in late 2014. But from what I remember, it was HARDLY on the level of hate, what Conservatives I saw, that Liberals have expressed towards Trump. Fuck, you guys REALLY don't like that guy!

I can say that I complained here and there about Obama, but I never HATED the guy like you guys do Trump. I despised him; I thought he was elitist, incredibly condescending, and that he ignored most of the population. But I didn't HATE the guy.

Speaking only for myself, I don't obsess over political candidates (that's not an insult directed at anyone). I don't lose sleep over them. I vote, and then I keep an eye on them. If they do something I don't like, I might complain about them, but I don't make a thread every day about that person on a forum. I can't say that I've seen the same thing from Liberals in OT....there's about 15 threads a week about Trump.

Again, that's speaking only for myself. I can't speak for any other Conservative-minded person in OT. I know Denny bumps heads about Trump with a lot of you guys, but I don't pay attention beyond that.

If I was gonna complain about a Liberal or a Democrat politician, chances are likely that I'd do it over on GlockTalk. Been a member there since 2004. But even they have their fair share of nutjobs over there. Not many, but enough to be concerning.

Sorry, this probably should get its own thread in OT (Sly, maybe split off this conversation? Or just erase it tomorrow; that's fine too)

A lot of us are one-issue voters... mine is "having all the same rights as a white man in the United States". Trump's not really about that.

No need to split it off....I don't have a huge interest in taking this further.

Definitely agree with you on the "one-issue voter" part. Respectfully disagree with you about the rest....but again, not enough to take this further, so let's just agree to disagree.

Yeah, if Meyers is the answer you're asking the wrong question. Similarly, I was high on Crabbe until someone pointed out to me that the only reason our wins correlated with his shot count was because it meant the team was so bad Crabbe was being left wide open. Even cursory defense interrupted his shot. Meyers is (was?) the same way; "great" shot selection can be a hindrance.

What idiot told you that

When the 19yr Old out plays you in his first NBA game. Please, for the Love Of $^%, Let that game be the end of meyers. . .I yelled at him more than the entire OKC game today. And now I feel like the girl who got raped, and has to talk about it, in front of the entire graduating class, while being live streamed to the local Church(s)

On a the plus side. not only is biggie a beast, but collins has some grate D. They looked great on the court together tonight. typical rookie stuff yeah. all and all. Im way happy.

Fkn Nards.
Bronze.

He did fine. Hardly the problem tonight. If he plays like that consistently he'll be a solid backup center, and someone we shouldn't have trouble moving if need be.
This is what i am thinking. Meyers played well enough. I also think the best situation for all involved would be for him to play well enough to be traded. He needs a fresh start somewhere else.

Because stats tell the whole story?
He also played solid positional defense in the first half, consistently challenged shots at the rim, and was rarely out of position. Unsurprisingly, he didn't fare well in the 4th when the game devolved into rat ball.

No, stats don't tell the whole story, but they support an objective evaluation of his performance last night.

Absolutely. We lost last night because Pat played passively, like he always does, and Jake shot us out of the game (like HE always seems to). Biebs wasn't at fault... THIS time.

The only reason people want him to play well enough to be traded is so they don't have to rescind a lot of what they have said over the last few years. If he plays well enough to be a solid backup to Nurkic why would we feel like we want him playing well elsewhere... what do they call that cutting of our nose to spite our face?

No, it's because he's fragile. He could play well for a while, then lose his confidence. I hope it doesn't happen, but we just drafted 2 fantastic bigs - we don't need him.

If Nurkic gets two quick fouls against a big strong center, Meyers is our best defensive option. He provides something off our bench nobody else does. He has value to this team.

He absolutely has value to the team, especially the way he played game 1, but....
You act like he's free - he isn't. I'd rather have Biggie/Ed backing up Nurk in this situation and 10 MILLION DOLLARS off our cap, which would put us below the luxury tax, and give us TWO more years before paying the repeater tax.

I am a fan of Ed Davis. On this team, his lack of outside shooting hurts, basically making all the good things he does a wash.

I'm tired of player playing out of position, Meyers at PF, Aminu at PF, Davis at C. It's not a winning formula, it's a bandaid when you have deficiencies.
Agreed, for the most part, although I think Davis and Meyers can play out of position just fine; if they play together. They actually complement each other quite well, IMO. Meyers' "PF-esque" attributes are offset by Davis' "C-ish" skillset, and vice-versa.

Normally i would totally agree. But the level of hate directed towards Meyers Leonard is at a level i don't think i have seen except maybe Raymond Felton? The guy played as solid a game last night for 13 mins as any i have seen from him and the hate continues. What would it take to get past it for him? My only thought is another city and another town to get a fresh start.

There are a lot of solutions to getting below the luxury tax, and the Blazers have until the trade deadline to do it. I don’t see any benefits to rushing. Let the season unfold a bit and then see what needs we have and what trade opportunities arise.
