Yep. I think he could make another leap too. But I’m not sure how he fits in our rotation. I want to start Scoot.

Not a rumor, was just posted as the highest betting odds to land him.

Vegas influencing social media? Lol.

Dark conspiracy:
Teams that want to trade a player or trade for a player, but are gettingowballed, contact Vegas and request odds for betting on landing spots for players. Odds go public and people pay attention and start talking. Team now has potential added leverage through a social media consensus.
Stretching it I know, but in this world, I don't count anything out.

IF and that is a BIG if a deal like this were to happen good chance either the Blazers are trading OUT of the first round or all the way back to 25 to 30 in the first round but just a fans idea but I like the bones of the idea just not sold on the player coming to the Blazers.

Portland should be in the young talent acquisition mode right now. RJ certainly qualifies, but would be redundant with Sharpe. Would probably do it if they can find a flip. Price is certainly right and he is not 35 with $104 mil due.

RJ would have been a nice 3-guard rotation with Scoot and Sharpe. But can't see it happening with Jrue unless he can play some backup SF. He is 6'6 215. They would still need to trade Grant, though.

Sharpe or RJ can't really play PG so I don't think that would have worked as a 3 guard rotation.

But your right it would be hard with all 4 - I assume with Jrue-Scoot-Sharpe that we would see significant minutes of Jrue at SG. Add RJ and now Sharpe/RJ need to swing up to SF a lot.

If its true were going to get RJ+ keep Jrue... seems like Sharpe might be the odd man out?

Maybe the plan is to trade Grant+Sharpe+11+something for an allstar? Maybe KAT? Maybe Lauri? I just don't see a good role for Sharpe with Jrue and RJ. Trading Scoot doesn't make sense as Jrue is way to old to be the only PG.

Good point. I have not seen him play much. I now see he is listed as a SG/SF.

RJ is a usage player that does nothing without the ball. I'm surprised folks here want to get him because he'd just be taking the ball away from players we're trying to develop, and he's not particularly efficient doing it.

Valid concern. Yeah only seems to make sense if we are removing both Ant and Sharpe offense - then I can see the need.

I am not excited about him at all.

I mean, if we want to accumulate talent, Sharpe might not ever get as good as RJ? If the price is as cheap as Matisse, RW3 and a 2nd, go for it.

Is RJ really that good?

I think Sharpe could easily put up these numbers next year. He's also three years younger.

Sharpe absolutely could, but I don't think we are in a position to be picky when talking about a guy in his twenties putting up his numbers for as cheap as Matisse, RW3 and a 2nd.

The problem is that it's not that simple anymore. Not with this CBA. Players have to be paid. You can't just go get another dude who expects a big paycheck just for the hell of it. His contract runs out after 26-27.

The point would be to play them and figure out which one you want to keep. You can flip the other at the deadline if you want to move on.

Can also flip Jrue instead if you want for salary relief (idiotic we took his deal on).
