Eh, idk about that. His contract is just as bad, and Jrue is the better player even old.

Yep. I think he could make another leap too. But I’m not sure how he fits in our rotation. I want to start Scoot.People just say shit to be mad I swear

From the Toronto Reddit board, I think I’d do that trade.
Thybulle/RW3/2026 2nd for RJ

Portland should be in the young talent acquisition mode right now. RJ certainly qualifies, but would be redundant with Sharpe. Would probably do it if they can find a flip. Price is certainly right and he is not 35 with $104 mil due.
So basically just salary dump for Raptors.https://www.reddit.com/r/torontoraptors/s/t5jVt2RjZs

Sharpe or RJ can't really play PG so I don't think that would have worked as a 3 guard rotation.RJ would have been a nice 3-guard rotation with Scoot and Sharpe. But can't see it happening with Jrue unless he can play some backup SF. He is 6'6 215. They would still need to trade Grant, though.

But your right it would be hard with all 4 - I assume with Jrue-Scoot-Sharpe that we would see significant minutes of Jrue at SG. Add RJ and now Sharpe/RJ need to swing up to SF a lot.
Valid concern. Yeah only seems to make sense if we are removing both Ant and Sharpe offense - then I can see the need.RJ is a usage player that does nothing without the ball. I'm surprised folks here want to get him because he'd just be taking the ball away from players we're trying to develop, and he's not particularly efficient doing it.

Sharpe absolutely could, but I don't think we are in a position to be picky when talking about a guy in his twenties putting up his numbers for as cheap as Matisse, RW3 and a 2nd.Is RJ really that good?

I think Sharpe could easily put up these numbers next year. He's also three years younger.

The point would be to play them and figure out which one you want to keep. You can flip the other at the deadline if you want to move on.The problem is that it's not that simple anymore. Not with this CBA. Players have to be paid. You can't just go get another dude who expects a big paycheck just for the hell of it. His contract runs out after 26-27.
