ROUND 1, GAME 3: ROCKETS @ BLAZERS - 4/25/14, FRIDAY, 7:30 PM (PST), ESPN & KGW

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

NBA has to see this series go to 2-1, so they're calling in the reinforcements. If the Blazers go up 3-0, it's a pretty much a guarantee Portland wins it, and it could end in a sweep.

Actually, I'm more worried about complacency than the refs, at this moment. That's not a knock on the current group of guys, it's more based on history. If there's been a Blazers team I expect to not be complacent, this one is at or near the top of the list.

Refs aren't going to get into our guys' heads.

Crawford has no compunction about making blatantly obviously game fixing calls, right out in the open. He's done it so many times, he just doesn't give a shit who sees it.

We shall overcome!

I have a great feeling today. Think we'll come out bombing threes and make the refs irrelevant. HOU looked really defeated last game-- think that will carry over when they hear the PDX crowd.

The Rockets will be so focused on LaMarcus, the fans won't let the refs let Beverley get away with the constant fouling of Lillard, and being at home, I expect a Damian Lillard three point and lane driving extravaganza!

Dame with 30+ tonight. LaMarcus too.

I'm hoping for a game composition that looks like:
1/3rd of Game 1 (LMA beasting in the paint)
1/3rd of Game 2 (Letting Dwight get his, keeping Harden & Parsons out of the game)
1/3rd of something new - lights-out 3-point shooting, Dame and Robinson each throwing down at least one MONSTER dunk

Covers is still saying Danny Crawford. Interesting.

I do not have a problem with Joey Crawford calling it. I could see him getting pissed at D12 and Harden if they cry too loudly over not getting calls.

Also, another 40+ point from LMA would just be awesome. But whatever it takes to get the W is all that really matters.

From what I've heard, they are showing the intros on KGW as well. That makes me excited since I can't be there!

This is true. If anyone tries to "show up" Crawford he will make them pay. If we ignore the calls and play like last game, and let the Rockettes get emo, this could work in our favor.

Thanks, I feel better. :)

Did you not hear the fans in Houston? They practically chanted "Ref you suck" the whole two games!

I have heard that a lot from all of the home crowds.

While the NBA refs deserve a lot of the shit pointed their direction from the fans, the players, the coaches, and the managements... man, they have a shitty job. No matter what call they make (or don't make), a section of rabid people are going to scream and holler and demand their heads on a platter for any perceived slight. The game moves so fast and there's so much to pay attention to that missed/blown calls are going to happen. It's part of the game. Teams that win are the teams that don't care about the refs. They take care of business regardless.

I'm hoping for a game that's more like tight and entertaining for the first 25%, then all-Blazers for the remaining 75%, with a 20-point Blazers victory. My heart can't take the level of stress it endured for Games 1 and 2.

100 standing tickets left for tonight.

edited to remove link to Dwight article, apologies. :)

I hope our crowd follows our team's lead and stays classy through the bad calls. Sure, boo the hell out of BAD calls but not EVERY call. And hopefully no "you suck" chants - as true as it might be.

Where do people actually "stand?" Always wondered this

I dunno... but it's in the 300 level... I can't stand for too long up there without feeling like I'm going to fall... so no bueno for me.

A TV, couch, and good food will do just fine.

So I'm guessing people can't bring in foldable lawn chairs and plop them down on the corridors?

This sounds crazy (and awesome) to me, tbh. Standing room only for a bball game. I wonder if other cities have this.
