I think we agree, but there is an important distinction.
It sounds crazy, but I want Scoot to be a shoot-first PG, just not an outside shoot-first, but an inside shoot-first. Way too often, I've seen Scoot get into the paint and the defense knew he
we going to pass, which all too often turned into a turnover. Scoot's recent success has occurred because he's now choosing drive-and-score. When the defense commits, then he
has the option of drive-and-dish.
While I can't stand Russell Westbrook, I think Scoot can become RW without the ego. That's is drive into the lane. If the defense stops him, dish. Otherwise, score the ball. RW routinely
racked up double digit assists using this method. Scoot can too.
Of course, I don't think Scoot should be a shoot-from-3-first PG, nobody does.
