God i love Gary Trent

how the hell did the organization hype simons up but not simons ?
I assume that second one should be Trent.

Answer: Simons can create his own shot better. And you don't know who's going to be a big game player till you play in big games. Although Trent did pretty well for Duke, so...

Simons will come around. Maybe not for us, but he's too talented to flame out of the league. He had a solid game today, too, and it was nice to see Terry trust him with minutes.

Simons reminds me of a more lanky Rivers, has the hype coming in, will likely be a rotational player most of his career. Trent Jr. reminds me of Wes, a guy who will do whatever you ask, play hard, and make shots.
Of course Trent, like Rivers, went to Duke.

Melo has looked good at small forward.

Trent is a ridiculous shooter. No fear.

Nurk always tends to get a little too eager around the basket when he plays teams with no center. Other than missing some bunnies he was a monster.

Whiteside actually looked awake.

He's been playing great D and distributing the ball all game. His shot has been a little off but they have been gearing their whole D to make him give up the ball and he's been making them pay for it.
I was talking about his shot not his overall game.

I'll certainly take the win, even if it wasn't artistic!

At the risk of pissing people off - I still think replacing Ariza with Zach has been a negative for us.

I wouldn't necessarily disagree with that.

But there wasn't a choice of sitting Zach and getting Ariza. If we sat Zach we'd have more Hezonja. Thank gosh for Zach.

Why can he not have a great 1st AND 2nd half? Is that to mutch to ask from your star player?

Why can't you see ANYTHING other than individual scoring?

c'mon now...don't you know that if Dame isn't averaging 45 points, he's letting the team down?

if Dame was a better player he could be averaging 29 & 8 while posting a .618 TS%. Too bad he couldn't average 49 & 10 over a 6 game stretch leading Portland to a 5-1 record which would have secured an invite to the bubble. Instead, Portland is missing out and staying home like Minny and Atlanta....all because Dame isn't good enough to lead Portland to wins

Alright go ahead and admit it.

Stotts is coaching this team well right now. Adjustments every game and a different look for all three teams. He is going with hot players and giving the team a chance to win. He has not missed on a challenge and he has called them at crucial times.

It was ugly offensively, but Portland has done a nice job coming up with a gameplan against Harden.

also, harden looked really chunky.

Harden currently has a spare tire fit for a truck drive across Texas.

On defense, Trent is as energetic as Aminu. But his shot is no gimmick.

Nurkic is one-arming himself out of stardom.

And a dozen errors which could be avoided by holding the ball with two hands.

Does it make you mad when a guy goes up for a left hand layup and jumps off his left foot or doesn't make a solid jump stop before passing?

He gets mad when he has a sober thought.
