"rip city" is because the ball rips through the net, right?

I love that we're dominating, not just in general, but that we're doing it on ESPN too.

where are all the Nate haters now??? His coaching is all over that first quarter.

Why is Portland called Rip City again? I remember someone told me once, but I totally can't remember.

Rip City

The nickname Rip City is usually used in the context of the city's NBA team, the Portland Trail Blazers.[11] The term was coined by the team's play-by-play announcer Bill Schonely during a game against the Los Angeles Lakers on February 18, 1971, the Blazers' first season.[12] In the days prior to the three-point field goal, Blazers' guard Jim Barnett took an ill-advised long distance shot that nonetheless went in, giving the new team hope for a victory against the powerful Lakers. Excited, Schonely exclaimed "Rip City! All right!" Schonely admits that he has no idea how he came up with the expression, but it became synonymous with the team and the city of Portland.

it's the coaching

Andre at Point Forward on offense is a clever idea. Telling them to run as much as possible is also turning out to be a great idea. Subtracting Outlaw minutes for Bayless is also a nice move.

So far, you gotta hand it to Nate (or, if you're MM, whoever you think is making the good decisions in spite of Nate)

Right here.

I still think it was a stupid move.

Glad it seems to be working, though.

Running is what you should do against an older team on the 2nd night of a back-2-back.

ummm Outlaw was out there. His block started the fast break.

Why was Outlaw in instead of Webster?

And right on cue, Blake steps outside of himself and tries to drive the lane and instead of drawing a foul he gets rejected.

At least he tried to drive that's one of the big things people have been complaining about.

Get off the guy's jock for a half and let's see how he does.

It was still a good move to get open.
