SPURS @ BLAZERS - GAME THREAD

Welcome to our community

They were VERY unhealthy last year, and they significantly upgraded at the small forward with Richard Jefferson.

Even accounting for normal age-related backsliding by Duncan and Ginobili, the team should have improved.

They look very small and old at this point, though...

Ed O.

All true and valid points. They should be better, just one of those weird gut feelings I had coming into the season. Granted, the season is VERY young and they have plenty of time to prove me wrong, and I won't be the least bit surprised if they do.

The Spurs frequently start slow. If this group is healthy and clicking come April I sure as hell wouldn't want to face them in a seven game series.

Coach's Decision, or was there something else?

I think Bynum sat out because both of his injuries came during games against the Grizzlies! He's actually skipping out on a game because of superstition. I love it.

I, personally, didn't understand why everyone thought they'd be so much better this year, despite the moves they made this summer.

Hard to believe they will suddenly sustain this monumental effort for the rest of the season, and most opponents won't be dead tired like the purts are tonight.

Andrew Bynum 2009-11-05 strained right elbow is expected to miss Friday's game against Memphis
Pau Gasol 2009-11-05 strained right hamstring is doubtful for Friday's game against Memphis

According to basketball-reference.com's injury report for the Lakers. Neither of them have played tonight.

You do know I was talking about the Spurs right? But, I understand, you saw the opportunity to take a veiled shot at Miller and couldn't resist.

No, I missed that entirely.

And my "veiled?" shot was not at Miller, it was at KP.

Or for chrissakes even Bayless. This unit is going to get absolutely murdered by Parker, Jefferson, and Ginobli ... holy balls I can't turn away no matter how much I know I should.

Anybody want to guess the over/under on when Oden picks up his second foul in the first quarter? I'm going to say 5 minutes.

Well, you called Greg's 2 early fouls anyway.

They're giving the ball to Oden way more tonight. And putting the ball in Miller's hands. And it's working so far.

LOL at Bayless jumping into a wall.

Wow. All of Greg's 10 points on Duncan ... pretty impressive stuff.

Great coaching by Nate. Start Miller. Let him do his thing. Make sure everyone on the team looks for Oden. Run at all opportunities. Let Roy pick his spots.

I love it.

It's funny how all we had to do was the exact opposite of what McMillan wanted us to do when the season started.

Changing of the Center.
