I hardly even interact with the asshole anymore, but to single out just us 3 is bullshit. I'm sorry to hear about your brother and hope he is ok. I'm dealing with a small d dog that fell down a second story flight of stairs and was essentially paralyzed for 2 days and now can semi stand and walk a little bit. You have posters all over the forum doing shit as ob has attacked me unprovoked several times and have seen him do it to yank as well. Then we have hobbes who essentially mocks pretty much any post i make with his standard popcorn and laugh emoticons. That sure does encourage better discussions right? So, point the finger at all the rest as well.

I hope you don't consider me to be one who is attacking you, Cup. That's never been my intent. Honestly, you're one of my favorite posters on this forum. More so from the Blazers side of things than politics, I must admit. I do give you points for unrelentingly sticking to your Blue beliefs.

Positive he was not directing that at you.

I guess it is more him and Yank, but the last three or four flame wars that have occurred and been reported it seems your three names come up as well as a few others. Just asking everyone to chill.

Sorry about your dog. I hope he is ok.

Nope, never entered my mind. By the way, i've mentioned this before. But I'm not a democrat, i i'm just anti trump. I will say however, the republican party is circling around the drain with trump as there are very few things i agree with on that side anymore and hope it starts changing after this next election.

@yankeesince59 @Orion Bailey @CupWizier and anyone else in these stupid flame wars....ENOUGH! ENOUGH! ENOUGH!

It is giving me a headache. There is real shit to deal with. My brother just got hit by car and a broke his back. People are dying. And you guys continue to have a grade school playground argument.
Sorry about your brother Craig!

You're correct, of course, that there's no legal proceeding involved unless Ms. Reade were to file a civil complaint. I doubt that's going to happen, although she did state that she would testify under oath and that's the reason I used that term. I would think that there would be a way that the DNC could conduct an investigation, with an ultimate decision by the DNC as to whether the accusation has sufficient merit as to disqualify Biden as a candidate under the Party's adopted rules. Each presidential candidate is required to "affirm" that they meet the following qualifications:

VI. Presidential Candidates The term “presidential candidate” herein shall mean any person who, as determined by the National Chairperson of the Democratic National Committee, has accrued delegates in the nominating process and plans to seek the nomination, has established substantial support for their nomination as the Democratic candidate for the Office of the President of the United States, is a bona fide Democrat whose record of public service, accomplishment, public writings and/or public statements affirmatively demonstrates that the candidate is faithful to the interests, welfare and success of the Democratic Party of the United States, and will participate in the Convention in good faith. At the time a presidential candidate announces their candidacy publicly, they must publicly affirm that they are a Democrat. Each candidate pursuing the Democratic nomination shall affirm, in writing, to the National Chairperson of the Democratic National Committee that they: A. are a member of the Democratic Party; B. will accept the Democratic nomination; and C. will run and serve as a member of the Democratic Party.

The bolded part would be the area of consideration.

But I don't think that there's any historical precedent for such a thing happening, so it would have to be very strong evidence of sexual assault.

As far as what investigation is being done by the press, I think this article by Rolling Stone summarizes what we know so far:

https://www.rollingstone.com/politi...ra-reade-allegations-denials-evidence-993072/

And her interview with Megyn Kelly:

Maybe there's no way to really get to the bottom of this, but I hope that it's going to get more attention leading up to the Convention.

It's so important that young women are coached to not be afraid file a complaint or charges if they are abused. I realize there are very legit reason's why many wont and don't but there needs to be solid evidence and a legal approach to go after scum bags. I picked up that she has no legal representation, I wonder why?

Money, I’d guess. She did get an attorney since then. The guy who represented Blakey-Ford and some other sexual abuse victims. He’s also a Trump supporter, which has been played up by the Dems.

If you're referring To Reade, yes, she does have an attorney...who just so happens to be a Trump supporter...Gave trump $55K in 2016, which is ignored by the Reps.

Totally agree.

..."great minds". :bgrin:

"He has also given tens of thousands of dollars to state and local Democratic politicians in New York, including New York Rep. Hakeem Jeffries and New York Attorney General Letitia James. He has not donated to either Trump’s or Biden’s 2020 campaign."

Jeffries is actually the politician he donated to most recently. Jeffries is the Chair of the House Democratic Caucus.

But Dems like to ignore that.

Yeah, I was aware of that...do you think he'll contribute to Biden's campaign?

Great minds, different conclusions. The guy gave money to Trump’s campaign, but it’s pretty common for law firms to play both sides of the field with political donations. No idea if he gave some to Hillary as well. The fact that he represented Blasey-Ford in the Kavanaugh hearings would seem to indicate he’s not just a Trumpster.

He did not. He's a conservative Republican.

And lawyers don't care about their clients' political affiliation...the money is all the same color.

Oh, I dint realize she had an attorney. Thanks

If you were Read why would you retain a Biden supporter as an attorney so if the attorney supports Donald that wouldn’t surprise me.

Not sure if I'm understanding what you're saying but my reply to @VanillaGorilla was completely sarcastic. He countered my post by saying that in addition to giving Trump $55K the lawyer had also contributed to some local Dem causes and so I sarcastically asked him if he thought the lawyer would therefore help Biden...I didn't get an answer.

I see...you're probably right that attorneys wouldn't care about politics in order to make money on a case.

Me too. I was hit by a car and broke my back when I was 21. In Vegas no less.

I somehow didn't break any bones. I got hit in a crosswalk here in Portland when I was 14. Lady was going 30. I went up over the driver side of hood, broke off the driver side mirror, landed ass first on her back door, left an ass print, then bounced off. Hit the ground and rolled. I felt broken...just badly bruised though, thank goodness.

I was in the hospital for a month. I was on a moped leaving the parking lot at UNLV and got hit on Maryland-Parkway. That was not fun.
