I don't really like presents or cards. I buy whatever I want. I like guns, knives, punching bags, steak, fish oil, whey protein, big dogs, trees, cave paintings and the show Ancient Apocalypse on Netflix.
Teenage “I wanna blow up my school” starter pack type stuff.
Shocking.
Way off Biden topic but on subject of very old beer, archeologists found pottery with traces of Neolithic (stone age) fermented matter. Dried of course but gas chromatography showed it was a form of beer. The scientists analyzed the molecular structure and recreated stone age beer.
It was dreadful.
I brought this up the day he plead guilty. His name is Alexander Smirnov.Former FBI agent pled guilty to lying about Bidens. He was source of false claim President Biden and Hunter Biden received bribes from Ukraine. He claimed Hunter Biden had been secretly recorded while staying at Ukraine hotel. Hunter Biden never stayed at that hotel. He was gleefully cited by Republican Congress members during failed Biden impeachment attempt and feted in right wing media. He has admitted the entire story was invented.
He also pled guilty to separate charges of income tax evasion on $2 million in income from unspecified source
Yep. Being sentenced. Haven't heard any Republican apologizing....I brought this up the day he plead guilty. His name is Alexander Smirnov.

Another unsexy under the radar Biden policy.
Currently, physical stores are responsible for recall if a product they sell is deemed hazardous or malfunctioning. They have to contact customers and let them know, for example, that carbon monoxide detector doesn't work or that hair dryer short circuits and can cause fire. But online retail wasn't covered.
New rule extends responsibility for dangerous products to Amazon and other online retailers, who are required to contact customers. Naturally they plan to fight the rule.
Kind of shines more light on why Bezos vetoed Washington Post endorsement of Harris.
more than likely, multiple lawsuits which would not be cheap to deal with. I won one of those with Home Depot once. They are required or what? A fine?
They are required or what? A fine?
This is pretty irrelevant and Biden knows it. Asking corporations to police themselves is a joke.
It's likely cheaper for them to pay the fine than to implement a system that would notify customers of any wrong doing.
They can be held liable for damages caused by the faulty product.
It's not asking them to police themselves. In fact, that's literally the opposite of what regulations are.
That may or may not be true, but even if it was, wouldn't it be better to extract a fine than to do nothing at all?
Even if the fine did nothing to discourage bad behavior, it would at least provide some revenue for the government that doesn't have to come from taxpayers.
barfo
At this point Biden's legacy will be that of the guy who choked during the debate and lost the presidency to the worst candidate ever to run for office. His foreign diplomacy and economic success will not be remembered as Trump will dismantle it all in short order anyway. It's in their budget. This was Johnson & Johnson's calculation when they knowingly sold products that were cancer causing. Cheaper to deal with fines/suits later. We're really digging for compliments if this is what the Biden administration's legacy is supposed to be.

I'm sorry that your dainty little civilized pallet can't handle stone aged beer. But the stone ages were a time for manly men. They kept dire wolves as pets rather than tiny punt-dogs, had to fight of sabre tooth cats when they got up at night to take a piss and ate the raw hearts of the animals they hunted.
It's not. If there were actually any chance of it happening. Why is capping overdraft fees a bad thing?
What the fuck is Jesse Watters doing hanging out on a podunk, basketball message board hidden away up in Liberal Land?? We are not worthy........I'm sorry that your dainty little civilized pallet can't handle stone aged beer. But the stone ages were a time for manly men. This is just an act.
If it were serious he wouldn't have proposed it with 20 days left on the job. If it was legit we would have enjoyed the benefits for the last 4 years.No. It might not survive the Trump administration, but that doesn't make it 'an act'.
You assume everyone acts in bad faith, but this has been in the works since long before the election. Had Trump not gotten elected, these rules would survive for at least 4 years. Maybe longer.

Yes, I look at anything proposed the way this was as a bad faith act. Because it very obviously is.
Right. Biden didn't do it all by himself. Which is why I specifically called out Dems in the original post.
They've made similar proposal in the past. But Democrats were afraid to lose campaign contributions by instituting changes that would actually stick around.
No doubt if Dems would have won this would have been shelved.
