Cash bail discriminates against people with cash. If they don't show up to trial, or violate the terms of bail, they at a minimum lose their cash.

Ok, that literally makes no sense. If someone is concerned about losing the cash, they can either (a) show up for trial, or (b) not get bailed out in the first place.

Elimination of cash bail means the vast bulk of criminals run free in society 24/7 and re-offend as a lifelong, daily career, protected by the certainty that they will never be punished.

No, it doesn't mean that, as I pointed out in my previous post. Pre-trial detention is still an option.

LOL.

Her polls have always indicated that she appealed to no one, other than a few Ostriches
You must have her confused with Donald Trump who ranked 10 points behind Biden in the last polling before the election but somehow managed to turn that into a historic win over Biden. Confusing unless you see the obvious in the big lie.

Yes she did, but I worked on the campaign through California primary and women greatly outnumbered men.
I'm not arguing that but there were men like me who supported her although I favored mayor Pete.

Will Elizabeth Warren run again in the Democratic primaries? Is she the next nominee or will Joe win again if he runs? I would think Warren would beat Harris, just my opinion.
Yes, I too think Warren would beat Harris but only if something happened to Joe and the election was in 2024. In 2028 Warren would be too old.
Now Joe is really too old, also, but he was the best and most popular of anyone running at the time and will have, hands down, the most experience in 2024. Personally, I think Senator Amy Klobuchar would have been a great compromise candidate and might still get the nod within the next 2 to 6 years. I think she might be popular with Independents like you and she is a Democrat which satisfies the Left.

I like Amy…

I don't think Biden will be primaried. If he decides not to run Harris is probable choice. But we can jump off that bridge when we get to it.

Biden Guts His Own Agenda, Releases Framework For $1.75 Trillion Spending Bill, Progressives Livid.

Fuck Biden.

This corporate tool doesn't deserve support.

When Biden heads to G20 summit he will be in awkward position because the US only has ambassadors to two of them. The president has nominated ambassadors but Senate Republicans have blocked confirmation votes, which used to be pro forma. Not because of any objections to the particular nominees but simply because they want to block everything. Then they can run campaign ads blasting Biden for not getting things done.

same approach different side now.

wrong on facts
Can you tell me how many ambassadors nominated by Bush I, Bush II, Trump were blocked by a Democratic Senate minority? Or even majority? Without cause?

I should have been more clear. I was commenting on blocking everything.
Its gotten so rotten in congress its all about blocking the otherside.
In the future if things dont change it will be more of the same regardless of who's president, or congress.

I can't find the article but I read something recently that looked at when certain issues (civil rights, suffrage, ect.) have come to gridlock in congress, those are the times when amendments to the constitution where added. That isn't a ground breaking thought, but it went into detail about how we are currently at a time that resembles the politics of some of the past amendments. If I find it I will post it. Citizen's United would be the first place I looked, but there are other things that could be addressed down this avenue as well. Is there any way a coalition could be formed with the country so divided? idk

Thanks for clarifying.

Biden releases 'gender equity' plan that calls for eliminating cash bail
Calls to end cash bail come at a time when FBI data show an unprecedented rise in violent crime
By Michael Lee | Fox News

President Biden's plan to promote gender equity includes a proposal to eliminate cash bail for suspects, despite a rise in violent crime across the country.

"We are also committed to increasing federal oversight and accountability for police departments and prosecutors’ offices to address systemic misconduct, including gender bias and sexual misconduct," reads part of a 42-page White House report entitled the National Strategy on Gender Equity and Equality. "And we will work to end cash bail and reform our pretrial system, recognizing the harm these processes cause, particularly for Black women and families."

The report calls for a "whole of government" approach to ending gender inequalities, with the elimination of cash bail being one of the steps governments can take to combat gender and race disparities.

But the calls to end cash bail come at a time when FBI data show an unprecedented rise in violent crime, with the numbers of murders in the U.S. rising by nearly 30% in 2020. That number represents the largest single-year increase recorded since the FBI began tracking the statistic.

The overall violent crime rate, which also includes assault, robbery and rape, rose 5% in 2020 compared to 2019.

Advocates for keeping the cash bail system argue that ending the practice would put the public at risk, pointing to statistics in cities that have eliminated cash bail that show the likelihood of re-arrest before trial rose 37% in those locations. Suspects were also more likely to miss their court date in cities that had eliminated cash bail.

Hold violent offenders on no bail. Non violent offenders own recognizance

If Joe runs again he won't be primaried. If he announces he won't rerun then there will be primaries and she will likely run.

Biden Says His Presidency Is At Stake As Democrats Scramble For A Deal: A Closer Look

How Democrats' Failures Undermine Democracy.

This matters for 2022 and 2024.

All the things the Dems ran on, they threw it under the bus once they found a couple monkey wrenches donors paid for to make sure the bill wouldn't go through.

Doesn't matter how many parties you get if bribery is legal in our politics.
Bingo.

When in Rome you're bound to run into a bad Calamari dish from time to time....so Joe had explosive diarhea....? how could we elect someone who has irritable bowel syndrome? The horror
At least he didn't puke on the Japanese prime minister after eating sashimi on camera like George Bush Sr did!

I love how the right see's the left take shots at trump (the dementia, wearing a diaper, etc) and instead of going "yeah, ok, that's just dumb" they go "oh yeah? WELL, YOUR GUY IS A DOODOO CACKA HEAD!"

When in Rome.
