Why?

Monroe is infinitely better than all of those players mentioned.

CJ McCollum will be getting a big chunk of PT at SG, if not more. Henderson is a good change of pace with his size and rim attack ability.

I find it especially interesting because people have been complaining about not having a SG that can create off the bounce and get the rack...which is exactly what Henderson is. Nothing special, but we don't need special with McCollum, most likely, playing 25+ minutes a game.

Sounds like a waste of cap space; meanwhile,

Monroe is a legitimate all star caliber player at center.

Color me confused.
We have too many players up front if we brought in LA and Monroe, I realize CJ is gonna get minutes but I think Henderson is gonna log minutes at the 3 too. We need a shooting guard who can shoot and/or create in the starting lineup next to Dame.

Curious why you advocated for CJ Miles and not Gerald Henderson?

Virtually identical numbers all across the board, except, CJ Miles has a higher USG% and Henderson has a significantly better ast% (which signifies he is actually a better creator than CJ Miles, whom you are advocating getting rid of Henderson for...makes no sense)

Hendo 12/3/3 on 85%/44%/33
Miles 14/3/1 on 80%/40%/34

Same age, similar size...

I'm convinced some people have done very little research before judging Gerald Henderson...

We'd trade Kaman for cap space or a cheap SF.. then wed have Meyers and Plumlee off the bench.

Seriously though, Aldridge/Monroe/Leonard/Plumlee would be the best, most talented, most versatile grout of big men anywhere in the league. Plus you have an all star PG and two vet wings that can slash and lockdown on D and a 3rd year SG that's coming into his own. If Aldridge couldn't be sold on that...

I like Hendo and Miles. I'd love to have both. They're perfect wing players. They also can play together and with McCollum.

No Vonleh minutes though.

So you'd rather sign a bench player than an all star caliber center?

Okay.
Greg Monroe is not an all star caliber player, not in the West. He isn't even in the east. He's a mediocre defender (Not terrible). I rather start Leonard or Plumlee with LA and spend money on wing depth and a backup PG.

he's a borderline all star and a better #3 then Batum or Wes ever were. Plus playing next to Lamarcus will help him. He'd get 18 and 10

he'd probably get more rebounds..he averaged 10 rebounds with Andre Drummond.

Let Monroe rebound all of LMA's mid range shots for put backs?

He averaged 16/10 with a 22 PER last year.

Aldridge spaces the floor a lot better than Drummond does. More rebounding space..more room in the post.

He would be a "borderline" all star, I agree.

CJ miles wouldn't even be listed on the ballot in the west.

I'm sorry but Vonleh is a lottery pick with extreme talent, to not get him any minutes would be foolish. He has a higher ceiling than any of our bigs.
extreme talent? Hahaha alright. Ceiling means down the road and right now he's not better then Meyers, Plumlee or Kaman so if we're "contending", which we wouldn't without Monroe, we would play the best players

We could contend without Monroe. Plumlee fits better next to LA and Leonard fits next to both. We'd be fine.

Fit is great, but it doesn't make us a contender. You know what makes us a contender?

Another all-star (or borderline, as Bones suggested) caliber player going to work in the post next to the best PF in the game. Pick your poison, double one or the other and most importantly..

We were fourth WORST IN THE LEAGUE IN PAINT POINTS.

Monroe scored a majority of his points within 5 feet of the basket or someting like that.

Cmon man Greg Monroe is a game changer and there is a reason numerous teams are offering him a max contract, while no one is talking about those other dudes or even acquiring them in any way.

We don't need to be 15 people deep, we need to be 8 or 9 deep with GOOD players. See what happened to the hawks without any elite players in the playoffs? But they were so deep - they got trashed by an actual contender.

We are not the Hawks... We have elite players in Dame and LA in this scenario... We need depth and versatility... Look at the Warriors... Look at the depth they had.

So you don't think this is a deep team?

Lillard / (Still advocating Cory Joseph) / McCollum / Frazier
Henderson / McCollum
Aminu / Henderson
LMA / Leonard / Vonleh
Monroe / Plumlee / Leonard

But removing Monroe for CJ Miles is and signing another PG, given we can't sign one with one of the exceptions? Unless you want some elite backup PG, who, once again, will get about 15 minutes per game - at max. Seems like a huge waste of cap, once again.

Mm, I'm just not following your logic, considering Miles would be lucky to get 15 minutes a game behind Henderson and McCollum. Seems like a waste to me to triple down on a position.

I'd say we would have GSW versatility with the original lineup because our bigs can play anywhere - literally ever single big guy we have except Kaman (and Monroe to a lesser extent) would be able to play PF or C. There is plenty of versaility without adding CJ Miles (who'd play not much, to be perfectly honest unless we got rid of Hendo) and a backup PG (that in this scenario, you apparently want to go after someone with more than an exception, who would be playing behind Dame and CJ (who has the ball a lot in the bench unit).

So great waste 15 mill of cap on 2 players that will combine for maybe 20 minutes a game instead of a center who will play 35+.
