Event The OFFICIAL Trade Deadline thread

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

By the way, Royce White was on my brother's flight a couple days ago. Go figure.

Jermaine O'Neal has announced that he is not playing this season. Might be done for good.
Really? I thought his "announcement" was just him being pissy over DAL signing Amare instead of him?

In the obvious department...

If we trade for Chandler without giving up our top 9, then we have a top 10.
Bench: Blake, CJ, Chandler, Biebs, Kaman.

Seems good enough to me that I don't think we would need our draft pick next year.

Plus is there really that much of a difference in pick 26 and an early 2nd rounder that Allen could theoretically buy?

I love derozan but I just dont see the fit.

You don't see the fit for Portland? I think he does because he attacks the basket and is a great post up player for his position. I think he, Wes, and Dame would make a great trio to go with our bigs.

Ross and Dame would also make a great backcourt Duo. Wes could play SF

Derozan would be a good slasher for us sure, but his defense is bad and he is a career 26%shooter from 3

Agree on the 3pt shooting, disagree on the defense. He brings the energy on D and has the athletic ability to back it up. But we desperately need an attacking wing.

Maybe Ross being a Portland boy is the better option. He has good handles as well as a good three point shot.

I just can't see a derozan-batum swap happening. Shuffling parts and still not filling our needs.

I think Ross being a Portland boy would get him in trouble. Remember he grew up with t Jones, and we know how well he does coming home.

Wilson Chandler is the most likely trade target. The noise right now is about Arron Afflalo, but Chandler is a. an easier contract to move and b. a more reasonable asset to trade (as in, you don't need to get huge return for him vs. Afflalo with All-Star potential). The Blazers have been chasing Chandler for months, and CSN Northwest reports they're ready right now to give up Thomas Robinson, a first-round pick, and "another player" for the wing. That "another player" is the likely hang-up, with the Blazers thinking C.J. McCollum and the Nuggets likely wanting Nicolas Batum (that's been rumored but not reported as the scenario and it makes a lot of sense).
WTF?

LMFAO

Are the twolves holding onto Martin? Haven't heard anything about him. Not like that means anything but still

Probably won't happen, but which need are you talking about? Everyone seems to have a different opinion. Mine is a wing who can score in the paint and finish on the break. We need more easy baskets. My one question about him is......how are his handles? That is another need for our wing.

Nobody wants that chucker...except for a handful of people on s2.

I think a bench scoring wing is a bigger need than improving our starting SF position.
Derozan is a slasher and that's great and all, but he has a higher usage rate than Lillard does. Nic fits so well with our starters because he ISN'T someone looking to score most times he touches the ball, and sometimes that's needed more than just 5 scorers. Derozan is a high usage scorer who seems to have learned a lot, maybe too much, from his time spent with Rudy Gay. I don't dislike him as a player. I just don't see a straight across swap of him and Batum being beneficial to our team. With the ball in Nic's hand, he's looking to kick to Damian, hit Rolo on the PnR, or swing out to Wesley. Derozan with the ball in his hands is looking for Derozan. I'd like that sort of guy off the bench, which is where I think our need is, not so much in the starting lineup with Damian, Aldridge, Wes and Rolo.
