Unfortunately this is probably Masai inquiring like “hey, if he’s being shipped off for cheap, we’ll take Herro.”
I think it has more to do with him wanting to get Herro in town to beat his ass.
As absurd as it may sound, there is a supposed feud between Masai Ujiri, and Herro that traces its origins back to an incident at Beavertails Toronto Waterfront.
It all started on an eventful summer day when Ujiri decided to take a well-deserved break from the basketball court and indulge in some Canadian delicacies. He visited the famous Beavertails food truck, eager to savor the iconic pastries by the serene Toronto waterfront. However, little did he know that this casual outing would soon turn into a clash of egos.
As the queue progressed, Ujiri found himself standing right behind the then-rookie Tyler Herro, who was also enjoying the delectable delights of Beavertails. Trying to initiate some small talk, Ujiri cheerfully asked the young player about his first impressions of the NBA and his experiences playing in Miami. Herro, unfortunately, was caught off guard and misinterpreted the friendly inquiry as a subtle taunt.
From that moment on, a comedic chain of misunderstandings and exaggerated egos led to escalating tensions between the two. Ujiri, known for his stoic demeanor, couldn't fathom why Herro was taking their casual conversation so personally. Meanwhile, Herro, being a passionate and ambitious player, couldn't shake off the feeling that Ujiri was mocking him. Supposedly Herro ended up dumping aioli on Ujiri's head and saying "eat mayo you piece of shit".
