Toronto Raptors Dame trade ideas and rumors

It's not Toronto's FO style to be this loud.

He is taller and much cheaper than herro and if pans out, it's much easier to move ant and still have a designated shooter on the roster.

Come on, it is pretty simple why...
Aren't you sick of having one-way players? So we switch between playing Matisse to playing Dick, and in both cases we have half a player.

Why should the Blazers wait a couple years to improve the roster, when the time to do that could be now if Dame is traded?
There are many ways a trade could go, but one of them that should be considered is getting a player around 25-26 or younger who could help the team win immediately.
I'm not saying it's the only route, but if the right player is available for the right price, go for it.
Why? Because they should be trying to maximize their chances to win another championship.

They have no realistic chance of winning a championship in the next couple of years. So it's about maximizing things 3-7 years from now. That's why.

Dick + OG + picks, or OG rerouted somewhere else is >>>>>>> sending Dame to Miami.

Every team is going to have some cheap one way players, the CBA pretty much promises it. Getting Grady Dick allows the Blazers to have a required skill in a 1 way player much cheaper than what they have now.

You need to have shooters in this league. The Blazers now have Ant as their #1 designated shooter. They pay him a nice chunk of change for that. If they can replace that production with a cheaper option and use that salary for a position of need - it is an upgrade. If Dick does not prove himself to be a NBA level sharp-shooter every team needs, it's a cheap price to pay to find out.

The Blazers are trying to rebuild around Scoot and Shae if they pan out. No one is bringing Dick as a savior. They want him because if he pans out, he allows them to balance the roster.

This is the weirdest take to me.

People seem not to understand that situations can change.

It’s like marriage or even dating someone.

“I won’t leave you”.

Then they go and cheat on you.

Or abuse you.

So you could be loyal to your spouse, and even say, “til death do us part” …

But if that person keeps cheating on you or abusing you, you’d be a fool to still be “true to your word” hoping that “they’ll change this time”.

So he may want to finish his career in Portland, he may be loyal to Portland, and he may not want to run from the grind… but Portland management is abusing Dame’s loyalty and have blatantly lied to his face.

If your friend was in a relationship with someone who repeatedly lied to them, cheated on them, and beat them … would you tell them “Hey, you agreed to stay until death, so you better do that or your not loyal!”?

I doubt it.

And obviously it was a strong example that isn’t apples to apples, but you get the picture. It’s a much toned down version.
By what? Not trading CJ at his request?

Signing his cousin?

Letting him do what he wants on offense?

But wouldn't it make sense to have Ayton and OG in their primes in three years when Scoot and Shae are coming into their own? Wouldn't that line up perfectly?

FUCK OFF. Why the fuck would we "fancy" another no-defense shooter? This is like Tyler Herro only minus the passing. Gradey Dick: the poor man's Duncan Robinson.

It looks like Toronto has no intention of offering OG or Barnes, so we should just say fuck you and hang up.

Deep breath. It would be OG and Dick (instead of an upcoming Draft pick which they don't have), filler (i.e. Boucher, Young, etc) and a future pick around '28 or '30.

They can open up picks if they loosen protections on the 24 pick they owe San Antonio.

I'm cool with Ayton because he's locked up, I just think there's too high of a chance that OG walks and I don't think that's a risk worth taking. I'm sure there will be plenty of interest from a third/fourth team in OG.

If we get Gradey Dick I hope our announcers nickname him Big Energy because I think that would be hilarious and hopefully he can live up to being a sweet shooting effort guy.

Yes they can, but until they do, they don't have those picks to trade. Just like Miami could have additional picks due to the OKC situation....but they don't until they do.

Respectfully—based on what intel?

A lot of scouts loved Gradey a few months ago. At 19 he weighed in a 205. Another 10 lbs of muscle over time will help at SF. I think it is hard to project how good or bad he can be right now. From what I have read he is at least a willing defender. Not a lockdown defender by any means but a smart team defender seems possible.

Boucher helps the bench immediately. If they want Gradey and OG then it seems like Little is being included in the posssible
Phoenix trade.

Some personal and some contact's digging. The filler is speculation (whatever it takes to make it work) and some is supposition due to the lack of picks the Raptors control. But I'm told OG/Dick would be the base starting point if it was TOR. Blazers would like Barnes, but that is a non-starter for TOR.

I hope this is the trade.... Nas becomes a Pacer.

I'm in the minority but i like Grady. No chance i'm saying his last name.

If we could get OG to sign long term and get a tad bit more and Ayton, i'm all in at this point

Some of you just want to type "Dick" and "Pics" in the same sentence. This would be a very Long as far as the game threads go.
