I don't think Ayton and OG are good enough to win a championship with Scoot and Sharpe unless Scoot and Sharpe become hall of fame level talents, and even then I think the Blazers have a greater chance of ending up with a better starting frontcourt by playing it slowly, thus maximizing their odds.Trading for OG and Ayton could maximize the chances of winning a title in 3-7 years. You make it sounds like they're Dames age.
1. They both would be well in their prime in 3 years and possibly still very effective in 7 years.
2. Winning more games the next two years could improve Scoot Sharpe development significantly so they're better able to win sooner such as 3 years
3. The opportunity cost of having less win now players than OG or Ayton sounds very minor. If the Miami offer is 3 picks and the Toronto offer is 2 picks we didn't miss out on much
4. Even if the Blazers decide to trade OG or Ayton later it's very possible the return could be higher than their cost today.
Whatever his measurments are, if he doesn’t get 12 strokes a game, we don’t need it.What are Dick's measurements?
Highkn with good insight

worth the listen. highkin is the best Portland media person at the moment. But he provided a great summary of the situation and Portland's POV, but nothing earth shattering here.1 hour and 16 minutes?....are there any cliff notes?
Oh please, you have the time. Don't pretend like you don't.1 hour and 16 minutes?....are there any cliff notes?

good grief I'd love it if Portland could pry Barnes from them in a package for Dame. He impresses me every time I watch Toronto. He can defend most anyone, has superior athleticism & is such a solid complimentary player in his approach. Winner. That said, I don't think the Raptors give up Barnes, but if they want a title, I believe that would be the better move for them.
Without 3 picks, Id hang onto DameWhat picks? Why SA?
Oh please, you have the time. Don't pretend like you don't.
Feel like if you're posting this, ahem, package, you should re-order Thaddeus and Gradey with someone in between to avoid a visit from the FBI.Trent (sent elsewhere)
Boucher
Young
Dick
Who was the last team that won a title without HOF talents?I don't think Ayton and OG are good enough to win a championship with Scoot and Sharpe unless Scoot and Sharpe become hall of fame level talents, and even then I think the Blazers have a greater chance of ending up with a better starting frontcourt by playing it slowly, thus maximizing their odds.
And yet, it's far better than Miami can offer...OG as the centerpiece of Dame trade is the saddest thing
And yet, it's far better than Miami can offer...
Yeah, those picks are probably too far out... or maybe not. Our guys would be 23-25ish...probably, although if the Miami offer included their 2028 & 2030 picks, unprotected, and a 2029 swap, unprotected, those could be extremely valuable picks
of course, that's 5-7 years away and it's not guaranteed Miami has offered that
I don’t think so. He has more value than Herro, Jaquez or Jovic.OG as the centerpiece of Dame trade is the saddest thing
A 26 yr old wing who is borderline all-nba defense while shooting 38% from 3 on high volume. How sad is that.OG as the centerpiece of Dame trade is the saddest thing
Poor poor Damian Lillard. Won’t SOMEONE think about Dame???How do we get over the hurdle of trying to convince OG that we won’t ever do to him what we are doing to Dame right now?
Doesn’t matter what you say, it’s hard to erase the fact that we traded role players to their preferred destinations but traded Dame for the most assets.
People on here acting like adding OG and Ayton is a bad thing.A 26 yr old wing who is borderline all-nba defense while shooting 38% from 3 on high volume. How sad is that.
wut?How do we get over the hurdle of trying to convince OG that we won’t ever do to him what we are doing to Dame right now?

And if they're not, and we embrace the rebuild and struggle, we'll have a higher likelihood of getting a HOF talent because we'll be drafting at the top.Who was the last team that won a title without HOF talents?
Reality is, one or the other (probably both) needs to be a hall of fame talent if we are ever going to win a title.
Not really. There could be several teams willing to give up 2+ 1sts and a young prospect. If we get Dick, Thad, Boucher going to PHX with Nurk for Ayton, and an unprotected 1st + a pick swap from Toronto and can trade OG for another young guy and 2-3 unprotected 1sts, that’s a pretty good package.OG as the centerpiece of Dame trade is the saddest thing
No, dude, that’s exactly what I’m saying…wut?
If any free agent prefers their teams kowtowing to bullshit pressure over building the best roster .... i don't want them. This is such a ridiculous notion. Stop listening to Chris Haynes.
After seeing these offers, Dame will be the first one to understand.
how dare Cronin look out for his team's best interests? No, dude, that’s exactly what I’m saying…
Why were we kowtowing to f’ing role players???

I don’t think you can be convinced of anything. I’ll just end this convo here.how dare Cronin look out for his team's best interests?![]()
The problem is, our window in the lottery is hopefully only a couple years. If Scoot and Shae don’t pop, we are going to be for a rough period of time. But assuming they do play as we hope and expect, this team should hopefully be crawling up and out of the bottom of the league. And if they're not, and we embrace the rebuild and struggle, we'll have a higher likelihood of getting a HOF talent because we'll be drafting at the top.
