Danny Morang is more connected than any of you on here x1000000000. He just said that all the deals he heard that got proposed to the Blazers were NONE that he would have done if he was the GM. Take it for what it's worth but its more concrete than the speculation and ideas that you all come up with.

Danny has a very easy and obvious tell when he's on the radio. If he changes the tone of his voice mid-sentence he's lying or bullshitting.

I wasn’t implying that at all. Just saying I don’t, and have other shit to deal with

Things were certainly infered so even if you didn't mean to you implied something, especially with your follow up, not Cronin posts.

I think it also didn't help that HCP jumped in on it.

So…

Are we angling for the playoffs at this point? Because it’s looking like we’re drafting between 10-14 in the most loaded drafts in a decade.

You win with stars in the NBA. You don’t get stars in Portland unless you draft them.

This isn’t making sense at all. So I suppose I’ll root for the playoffs.

Cronin’s two timeline of middling vets with bad contracts and youth is the biggest reason I think he’s completely unfit for the office he’s in.

I’ve paid close attention to the NBA for many years. Teams go in decades long playoff droughts because of inept management like this.

I do agree with the majority of you that I wish we would have gotten rid of some vets to clear up minutes for the youngsters. But I'll disagree when you say that the vets are hurting their development. Scoot is a prime example. Look at how he's progressed and how he's playing now.
I bet you thought Brogdon was helping Scoot too and rationalized not moving him last deadline.

As others have suggested, these next 4 games between now and the all-star break will likely determine whether management gives the order to blatantly tank the final 1/3 of the season, or go forth on a push for a play-in spot.

I like how you give him credit for the vets with large contracts but none of the young bullish core and the fact we have the tallest team, the youngest team and arguably the most depth in the NBA.

You guys love conveniently leaving our important information in your quest for hate.

However it played out it was pretty fucked up! If it was unintentional then that's kinda nuts. If it was something that people thought was about to happen but didn't get across the goal line that's one thing but trying to play it off like it was just some every day posting is pretty suss, as the people say. If you didn't get a laugh out of it you should have because we were all freaking out @Mediocre Man and @THE HCP

Oh, I chuckled.

I'd say it's the next 5 games. But the Kings have been struggling a lot lately losing 5 of 7. They are like a lot of the teams the Blazers have beat in this streak: .500 teams with some injuries and playing poorly over the last 10

I suppose LaVine will be playing and might go off. I think he's better than Fox

but I'm inclined to think Portland won't flip to a tank. It's much too late

We have a decent young core. Still not enough. There’s other teams with a way better crop of youth.

In a loaded draft like this year what’s the point in riding the vets so hard who won’t even be a part of future, when the future matters.

I'd happily put my knowledge of the CBA up against his any day. And be very confident

Well then please bless us with your knowledge and help explain to the guys here the impact of the luxury tax aprons and draft picks.

I think what’s being lost in this conversation is that this is year 4 of being completely irrelevant.
Not one seriously significant move, one way or another has swung us to a complete rebuild or to being contenders.

we are officially a team of mediocrity with zero path.

Simon’s and Grant blocking playing time for the young guys we do have

we trade our GOAT abd are basically winning the same amount of games.
We have pieces, yes, but no avenue to getting a star.
We have never traded for one
We’re not tanking when one of the best draft classes in years is coming up

it’s absolutely pathetic

What teams did we play that were significantly injured during this streak? Off hand, Suns, Pacers, and Bucks were at full strength.

If we lose the next four I think we could lose the remaining 27 after that. That would likely put us at fifth. I think if we go all out we'll likely miss the play-in and end up with like the 12th pick because the two play-in lotto teams from the East will have worse records than us.

None of these things are being lost on me. If management has decided that they're sick of losing before we've actually built a core that can compete with OKC and Houston in 5 years then all of these shitty tanking seasons have been nothing but a big fuck you from our trust managing group to us the Blazers fans.

the fact we could have traded Grant to Houston for a first last summer is just bad management. it’s a mistake by Cronin and should not be forgotten.
Even if he ends up getting one, having Grant on the team this year is not good for our “rebuild”. I would rather have Kris Murray playing this year than a guy who is going to get moved later for the same package we could’ve got (or worse package) and helping the team win.
Huge miss

Not too late. In 21-22, we had a similar record and then benched the stars and went 1-21 the rest of the season.

If Joe and Chaucey think if they dont get it going this year they won't be back next year. Like Chuancy said in a recent interview, he'd like to stay and finish with this group now that they are connecting? If they are lame ducks what their real incentive to tank. Those two are trying to sell Bert and Jody this team is coming together finally so let us finish the job with new extensions. lol

The big fuck you imo is when Joe said we build around Dame 100%. Then he gets the third pick and refuses to trade it so he could then start his rebuild and buy another 3-5 years.

I think we probably win more games if we trade Grant/Simons. So that’s probably why we didn’t. I think Joe knows like everyone else one more high pick could be all it takes. Top of this draft is supposedly stacked.

You always come around peddling your inside connections and that you can't say anything. Every year. It's the same old same old. You're the Steven Greer of this message board.

Anyone who keeps falling for this is just silly.
Said several times this year that there was nothing

okay well I hope the vets don’t play tonight. Every win matters.
Philly and maybe the raptors pass us in wins. That’s really hoping
So you end up with 6th..
Sorry that’s not good enough
in a year you know one of the best drafts in a long time is coming.
You’re young guys have shown significant improvement
When you can now see Grant is our 3rd best forward
You gutted the fan base and traded Dame and drafted scoot to be the PGOTF after saying you were going to push all your chips in to build around dame
You have a coach who is clearly coaching to win

can we get lucky? Yes
are we doing anything to help our odds of getting lucky? No

We are treading water like we have done for years

Simon’s is an expiring contract next year. His value is not going back up

We turned down a trade from Houston for Grant for a first!

you have to call a spade a spade.

Cronin has made bad choices
