Trade Deadline: February 6, 2025

Isaac is a 3 and D guy. Would instantly add a ton of length. I don’t think he’d be as bad as many here think.

But on second thought he’s constantly injured.

I've heard Orland fans talk up Isaac so much over the years. And granted, small sample size, I only watch him when we play them, but , while a good defender, he's not the " covers 1-5" they hype him as. If he's my best defenders, AND he's shit on offense, I want him covering the opponents best player. But so many times he was out there covering Jabari walker .
That being said, his contract has outs if he doesn't play in 52 games per season. I'd make the deal, but I'd want better of their or denvers pick.

I’d do it, Issac has a pretty decent contract relatively speaking at 15 per. Still only 27 and adds some more length and defense. I’d really wanna deal Grant though.

Healthy players get injured when they come to pdx, I’d expect the often injured Isaac to turn into a fucking iron man if he was traded here. We can’t be cursed both ways.

Didn’t Camby stay healthy here? Can’t remember.

Do we really want Isaac on a salary for the next 4 years? That dude sucks.

Granted his salary drops over the next 4 years to 15 per, but the answer is still no unless it was for Grant. We don't need a defensive forward with his injury history when we have cheaper forwards in Camara, Deni, and to a lesser extent Murray. Especially if we draft another one.

If he gets significantly injured, we can get out of his contract, and then it's a 1st for Ant. If he doesn't, then we have him as a contributor off the bench at a mid range salary

Blazer fans. On the other hand.

Like how they've have reached a competitive level in the second year of a rebuild, and are playing great basketball? Is this considered a defense? That he gave Chauncey the time needed to develop as a coach, and is beginning to develop a defensive team mindset? What's not to like? We have a couple players on big contracts who've been surpassed by younger cheaper players? Good problem to have.

2nd year of a rebuild?

they have deliberately tanked hard for 3 straight seasons

Let's build this thing now! We're going to prove them all wrong! We have at least 4 or 5 All Stars!

<Sigh>
It's Bill Simmons' trade rankings. Where people would obviously pay more for Lu Dort and Naz Reid than Dame Lillard and Joel Embiid. But yeah, let's base our rebuild off of it.

no, there was some front office indecision with the direction for the Lillard era. That was a lost year. The rebuild started with the trade of Dame, when it became Chauncey's team. They brought in some fabulous talent, and they are beginning to buy into the system. That is how it's done.

I mean, as opposed to the rose colored perspective we get here, it's kind of a refreshing change of perspective. And Simmons doesn't have any reason to be negative about us.

I'm sure he's wrong on some of them. But...
