This is the truth. If the Blazers are trading all their future picks in order to bring in 28 and 29 year old players they should think about trading Sharpe too. Otherwise you're going to lose him when the group of older players ages out and he is left on a roster with no talent right as he is entering his prime.
Blazers receive Bridges, Brown, Claxton
Nets receive Sharpe Nurk
Boston received Ant #3

Dame
Brown
Bridges
Grant
Claxton

Probably the best starting lineup I've seen proposed for the Blazers for next season. But really sucks long term losing Sharpe, #3, and Ant.

One thing I heard mentioned as an idea: #3 for Franz Wagner.

if Scoot is available, Orlando may see him as a better fit to be the lead guard of the future compared to Suggs and Fultz, and is a better fit with Paolo.

they also have their own pick to replace Franz with another wing.

The 3 for Wagner, 6 and 11. We are playing poker. If they don't like it offer up the second rounders or even 23. Go for the jugular people. Portland has the desired asset. With this said, keep 3 and draft Scoot or Miller.

Would love to get Wagner, 6 and 11. Portland is more than 1 player away and needs assets and length. Get Hendricks at #6 and the other Miller (Leonard) is shooting up and some scouts have him going as high as #10 or #11. That would be adding two 6'9" guys and one 6'10".

And while I like Wagner, defensively he is not great, while Miller is reported to be able to guard up to 4 positions. Hendricks would be another player with length and defensive chops that can also stretch the floor. We get length, we add defense, we have offensive versatility (L Miller really came on late) and those are inexpensive contracts for years to come. Add that to Sharpe and that is an exciting roster that would be about as good as we had the last 2 years, but with MUCH more potential and future Cap flexibility.

Look how long OKC is taking in their rebuild. And while all the young talent, and future picks are nice, they still aren't there. It's been what, 7 years of this rebuild. It could take 4 to 5 more till they get a player who is SGA level, if they do. Chet is interest, and has a wonderful skillset, but can he stay healthy. What if SGA bolts. Then you're back to square 1. There are no super teams right now. If the Blazers go "All IN' and acquire some quality pieces to put around Dame over the next 2 seasons , and it doesn't work, you still have Sharpe, being as young as he is, to build around with youth later. Rebuilding takes much longer unless you're lucky enough to get a LeBron, Wemby type talent. We all hope Sharpe is the truth. If he is, it will really show this year, in a pronounced uptick in his play. But to give up and start rebuild now, it can take years upon years to find a player who has Dame's abilities, if ever. And i say this all the time. Most of us love Portland. We wouldn't be here if we didn't, unless there's financial issues that don't allow a move. But not all athletes buy in to this special place ( lack of entertainment choices, weather, etc.). And they might choose to force the Blazers hand and want out, instead of maxing out money wise here.
You are wildly exaggerating on how long their rebuild has been. They were literally in the playoffs during the bubble which was only three seasons ago.

Such a strange comment. You really think the ones that want him traded are the ones that would care about saying it to his face?

I wasn't be seriously. I assumed that would be obvious. Clearly no Blazer fans who thinks that, would own it in such a manner.

Hard to see this happening. They have a ton of guards in Anthony, Suggs, and Fultz. Wagner is also probably better than Miller at this point. They would really have to believe in Scoot or Miller to do this. But this is pretty much a no-brainer to me if it was offered.

I read this earlier and the lack of respect for the GOAT of the franchise disgusts me....guy just had a career year even though we were tanking. He's been lobbying all spring for talent to come to Portland. What the fuck more do fans want from this guy...he's a generational unicorn in a small market that loves Portland...haters can fuck right off in my view. Ant you can trade...Nurk you can trade...Dame is untouchable for damned good reasons. RESPECT, PASS IT ON!

I'd love to add both Wagner and Hendricks to this roster. Three young 6'9-10 guys combined with Sharpe, I would actually be fine running it back with an upgrade at C.

This being said, if I was the Magic, I'm not sure if I would do Wagner, #6, and #11 for #3 and #23.

Word! Bro.

Right, I would think Siakam would be better pairing with Grant. he averaged abot three more rebounds per game than Bridges. Hard to know how much of that difference is in how they were used and who played next to them?
Huh?
Per 100 possessions (to equalize for playing time & pace), Grant has secured 6.7, 6.2, and 6.1 rebounds per 100 (primarily as the PF). Bridges has secured 6.5, 5.9, and 6.0 per 100 primarily as the SF.
They are both poor rebounders.

Siakam is 9.8, 11.2, and 10.4
We need at least 1 of the forwards to be adequate on the boards. Maybe the target for the forwards ought to be Bridges & John Collins....

I do think they are the outspoken minority of fans. But Haters gonna hate.

I don’t even know why guys like Scoot, he looks like a better offensive Marcus Smart playing in the G-league.

He was only 17 when he started playing with Ignite.

Did you not see what he did against Wemby earlier this year? Prime time and he looked like a poised vet in a big game

I LOVE Leonard Miller. I was really hoping that Portland could snag him at #23.
Looks like he will be taken in a range where it would be extremely difficult to snag a pick.

I would love to have a chat with Dame and talk out the future of the team. I wouldn’t be scared to tell him that I think it’s in everyone’s best interest to explore trading him at this point.

Actually, no. This is factually dishonest because the cupboard would be bare except for having sharp and squat left because you and others are wanting to trade every conceivable asset the Blazers have to go all in for Dame. You have proposed every pick and pick swap Portland owns to satisfy Dame. Which leaves nothing in a couple years when Sharpe is peaking and he becomes Dame Jr. with a shit team around him. There is no "youth later" in your scenarios.
When Sharpe is peaking. When the Blazers unlock their future assets, they're most likely only going to 2029. 6 years. Sharpe would be 26 . Twenty freakin' six. That gives him , potentially , another decade to be special. Plenty of time to add free agents and so on. The ONLY way this team has a chance to compete for a title in the next 4 to 6 years is with Dame and added elements. It ain't happening with one & doners. OKC is in year 7 of the rebuild, and only if Chet is the real deal, does OKC have a chance to compete for a title within the next 5 to 6 years.

I once told Dame to his face I wanted Harrison Barnes, Austin Rivers or Kendall Marshall in the 2012 draft. Oops.

He probably laughed because you both knew how foolish it looked it hindsight.

PS- I also liked Harrison Barnes a lot!
