I like this one. I’d rather have Amen than either Scoot or Miller and I think HOU takes either Miller/Scoot.

I only have a few guys I’d be interest in at #20 and #23, but we could trade up to grab our guy or trade one for our pick back in 2024.

I believe in the twins’ work ethic. Sharp and Amen could be Mike & Scottie, at least stylistic wise.
Amen could allow Sharpe reach his potential as a player.
I don't think Amen fits with Dame though.

Sharpe and Ant play the same position, which our GM has even noted, so that’s not gonna happen

The same GM that failed to construct our roster correctly.

They play the same position the same way CJ and Sharpe played the same position. If Dame is on your team, nobody else gets to be starting PG.

On a well built team, Ant is a PG.

Trade Dame. Rebuild around #3, Sharpe, Ant and the haul we get for Dame. Just bite the bullet and start the rebuild.

This is what I’m leaning towards.. Dame is almost 35 anyways

If you trade the pick for a player and maybe future picks you better not miss on that trade. If your doing what Dame wants and trade the pick for veterans players again you better not miss.

You could trade #3 for #6 and #11. I think Ausar would fit with both guys because Ausar plays off the ball and could be the #3 of the future with Sharpe at SG.

At #11, maybe you can package with #23 for a higher pick or trade for roster upgrades.

We know SA will take Viktor.

Given Hornets have Lamelo, is it safe ro say they will take Miller for #2??

So really, Henderson is arguably BPA when it's our time to pick. But we have a PG already.

That's like my wife telling me this after 7 beers, don't matter how hard I try odds are I ain't gonna hit.

Ant + Nurk + Nas + 3 for OG AND Siakam.

So we start Siakam Grant OG and have Sharpe off the bench?

I sort of like it, but it does question if all 4 of those guys will be happy kong term in Sharpe improves.

I highly doubt Toronto entertains both of them for #3 but if they did yes I'm considering it.

Eh, I don't understand why. Ant is probably the best three point shooter in the entire league 23 and under. He has decent size and great athleticism for a Point Guard.

He'll be good enough to be a championship calibre pg in a couple years. Not Dame level, but probably Terry Porter.
Yup. If Shaedon is deemed ready to start at 2, I truly don't see what would be wrong with having him be the 6th man. 96 backcourt minutes are available each night, thats 32 each.

That said, there are a lot of ways they could go this offseason. I'm mostly hoping they keep the pick and build their future.

Even if you don't think Ant will be a our championship PG in 5 years, you must admit his trade value is likely to increase as the featured PG on our team for a couple years.

He's a great character guy with the most important skill a modern NBA guard needs (elite three point shooting). No real injury history. And he's only 23--maybe three years from his prime.

If we never had Dame we'd all consider him a major building block of our team.

Siakam as a permanent small ball 5. Need to get a viable backup at C obviously, and both those guys will be on expiring deals, so its risky. The defense and switchiness is super tempting tho.

Dame/ Sharpe/ OG/ Grant/ Siakam

Plus he answered a question as old as time itself

This if they go with Miller. If it’s Amen or Scoot I’d try to trade Simons too. I’d see what it takes to get pick 11 from Orlando.

Scoot Henderson should have very high value to many teams.
Perhaps Houston wants him badly and will trade the 4th and 20th pick they have (as previously suggested) for the 3rd pick.

Interesting you compare the 2, because people consider CJ a blackhole, yet has a higher AST% and lower TO% than Ant.

Simons is not a PG.

I'm not sure if you've seen the avatar, not a fan of Cronin, but part of the reason they failed in roster construction is because they were trying to make Ant a PG in non-Dame minutes, which was a clusterfuck (one of many).

This I can (probably) agree with; although I'd say it might compound his turnover issues and teams would realize he's a one-trick pony.

So Blazers got #4, 3 (Webster) 1(Oden)..... And now we got 3 again. When was the next top5 pick? Maybe Bowey over Jordan in 1984 that was what.... 39 years ago?

We shouldn't dismiss a top 3 pick as though it needs to be thrown away for some debt to placate a Dame regrett. This is one of the rare assets to set our franchise on a good path the next decade with Sharpe, and hopefully many more great players in the future.

What's the love fest between Dame and Embid? They want to play together?

Looks that way , yes. Sam Bowie in 1984.

Not if you compare apples to apples. Both played SG next to Dame when they were 23. Ant bested CJ's AST% 18.6 to 10.3 and also bested CJ's TO% 10.2 to 10.8

Simons is not a PG.
CJ is finally playing PG for the Pels, a role that some of us regularly suggested would be his best. I feel the same way about Simons
