If you could get Orlando to trade 6, 11 and either Wagner or Carter for 3 and Ant that would be fantastic. Then flip 6 and 11 for something like OG or Siakam I think that would be a nice upgrade

Dame
Sharpe
Grant
Siakam
Carter

That’s a nice team

Trading two lottery picks for any of those seems like a huge overpay, but I'm an idiot

Can we stop now

Since you've been adamant the Blazers are trading the pick, doesn't one of the elite frontcourt veterans have to be attainable for that to happen?

I can't imagine the Blazers will trade the #3 pick for DeRozen or such. Ayton would possibly be even worse.

Seems like a very Olshey move, not a contender and no young upside.

I'd just pick BPA and keep Ant. Not much different today but way better future.

Just some advice MM but I don’t think this is the hill to die on.
We aren’t getting Bridges (hoping to eat crow)

I’m not sure ORL would want Ant. They would presumably take Scoot and already have Suggs, Fultz, and Anthony. Ant just adds to their logjam at guard.

Pulling together enough to trade for #6, #11, and Wagner would net us a huge return that works for either timelines though. That’s one of the scenarios I would love to happen. Wagner is only going into year 3 so he fits with Sharpe but also good enough that he starts at SF for Dame.

I wouldn’t want to trade #6 and #11 though. Maybe #11, but not both. The majority of mocks, I see Walker going to DET. It only takes an impressive workout to get HOU to gamble on Whitmore, Black, maybe even Hendricks. Amen could be there at #6.

I guess you could try to find a good return for Ant + #11 or #23. We need a big man, but good defensive big men are hard to find at a cost-friendly price. It’s like you also have to draft them. That’s why I might just run it back with Dame, Ant, Sharpe, Amen, and Mays, and also draft Lively to be a third string C.

Miller getting bad reviews in combine. Looking at the playoffs watching Bridges i am not that convinced he's worth giving up the farm.

I would embrace disappointment

Zero chance amen is available at 6

For those of you who want Scoot and would be okay trading Dame, where is Amen on your big board?

To me, Dame is still worth having on this team. He still gives you the best chance to succeed overall as a franchise. Young guys need a vet, and I see it being really important that whoever our crop of rookies are to have Dame as a mentor.

To me, Amen gives you almost everything Scoot does. Scoot will be better right away, but is the same size as Dame. Amen may also be a PG one day, but he has the size to actually play SF. I though the twins were going to be around 6’4.25 like Sharpe no shoes, but they’re a full 1.5” taller.

I think I’d rather have Amen with Dame still on the team than with Scoot and no Dame at all.

Do you really think Amen has zero chance of being pick by HOU? I guess it’s more wishful thinking than anything. I see Amen’s lack of shooting as a nonissue right now, but I’m hoping it turns a few teams off.

There's no "possibly" about that

wut?

during this annual 6 weeks of gaslighting, deflection, tactical leaks, lies, and damn lies, you believe the one rumor that dovetails with your opinion?

I'm just about certain that in January we heard that the Nets had no interest in trading Durant

Miller getting bad reviews in combine. Looking at the playoffs watching Bridges i am not that convinced he's worth giving up the farm.

Sharpe was also getting bad reviews.

I suppose it could be true or... misinformation.

The question the nets should be asking themselves is - is bridges a #1 on a championship team and if not, can they get one with the #3 pick for him. If, like me, they believe he wouldn't be a #1 on a championship team, and they believe scoot might be, they should consider a trade

Not to mention he's pushing 27. He'll be past 30 by the time they get ready to actually compete and his price won't be a bargain on the next contract.

If I was them, I'd restart with Scoot or someone else at 3.

It's interesting, all fanbases want Scoot or Miller, Scoot a bit more, i don't think many Blazers fans already realized what we have here with the 3rd Pick. Yes it sucks we couldn't get Wemby, but Scoot or Miller would probably be the first Pick in many other drafts. Fans who want to trade the Pick for a veteran, who might not even make us a Contender, need to understand that. And i hope Dame understands it too and he's happy if we Pick either Scoot or Miller

I think a problem we might run into is that 3 could very well be Scoot and it is Scoot and we're trying to combine 3 with Ant to land an all star... the Scoot and Ant pairing won't make sense to anyone in the league since Olshey is out of the league. I just hope that Scoot separates himself from Miller in the eyes of Charlotte and they start to see LaMelo as a facilitator triple double guy and Scoot as the 30ppg guy. A Miller/Ant combo outgoing would make a lot more sense to a lot more teams.

Dame's career has been crippled by starting next to undersized guards. Scoot will not make him happy. I don't think there is any way Miller will make him happy. Fuck neither guy should make us happy about getting better next season, both guys are about being better in two or three seasons.

The play is to turn 3 into an all star that fills needs on this roster or to trade Dame and Nurk, let Jerami walk or do a S&T with him, if it's Scoot trade Ant and do a full on youth rebuild.

Simply no. Scoot has the higher value. Ant can be rerouted to another team.

I'm not sure Miller should be in the top 3 of this draft.

I went through some tapes of both twins this morning. Very impressive, I hope they do the combine. If they measure out to SF sized (6'6 or taller barefoot, 7' wingspan) I'm truly intrigued. Amen is more of a playmaker, Ausar is supposed to be longer and a better defender. Both are top shelf run jump (40"+ vertical) athletes.

If you just google nba draft combine 2023 there are a ton of articles about standout performances from the scrimmages and who impressed the most overall.

Don't think that's a big issue, teams could just flip Ant to a 3rd team. The #3 pick has way more value than Ant, and possibly more value if it's Scoot than Miller, so I wouldn't look at it as you posted.

Bigger issue is with Scoot or Miller are the Blazers getting trade offers for an elite forward? If not then Blazers really need to take BPA, not some 30 year old expiring contract Siakam.

If the Blazers use #3 sure they can explore all of that, but there's really no urgency. Guys like Nurk or Ant might have good offers now or much better offers during the season, or even next year. Grant contract is only immediate decision that has to be made. Dame staying or traded would be the elephant decision, and might actually kind of hold up the others, as until they are 100% sure Dame is staying or going they probably don't want to commit to other decisions.

Let's say Blazers take Scoot, but there are rumors Embiid might be available if Harden goes to Houston, but that won't be resolved until July 5th.

So maybe even a chance that this isn't all resolved at the draft, it could go on into free agency or mid July.

If it were Siakam or better yet Brown I would hope that we would be able to get them extended before the trade was finalized. I don't know if that would make Brown's cap number bigger and harder to match if he extended for a super max.

I do think that #3 for even an already extended Siakam would be an overpay and then you'd have to send them Ant and Nas or Nurk... I know Nurk probably has neutral value because of his contract but I think Ant and Nas have some value despite Ant's contract and Nas's injury issues.

I do think that #3, Ant and Nas for an extended Siakam and #13 would be a fair trade for both teams but Masai doesn't seem to be too interested in fair trades.
