Anyone find it weird as of today ( Mon ) through prolly weekend and as of now no more workouts that we know of involving anyone in the Top 10 not even Miller and I could have sworn someone said he was supposed to come but I could be wrong on this. Let's say no more Top 10 ish type players come in outside of maybe Miller does that kind of tell anyone else anything like the following. I think for me that says they might have a deal or deals on the table for a vet but waiting to see if anyone else can beat it . Then the next option and this one could have MAJOR fallout with Dame and might be seen as a betrayal and that is they are comfortable with selecting at #3 and will take who is left between Scoot / Miller and the Thompson twins. We have not heard much on vets like Brown and such outside of random speculation that certain teams might not even be interested nothing really concrete at this point. I really think by this time next week we will have a pretty good idea what path the Blazers are going down and if we should be happy or get ready for a shit show caused by Jody and Cronin for keeping the 3rd.
This is the week where stuff we hear prolly holds more weight and rumors we might hear even if false MIGHT hold some truth in it so not trying to steal Pup's line but this week might be a time to hold on to something -- LOL -- cause it could get crazy one way or another.
Here's the problem with quite literally all of this... It's Schroedinger's cat. Right now Dame is both happy and furious. We're both trading the pick and keeping it for Scoot or Miller.
Good teams keep the REAL information bottled up, bad teams let real stuff slip. 99% of rumors that we see in the news are either dead, made up, or happening in the next couple of minutes. Some insiders likely
do know stuff and sometimes can and will hint at it, more often, they're incentivized to put out fake stuff. Conversely, wannabe insiders usually
do not know stuff, yet there are so many out there that a few will either post vague enough content to be deemed correct in hindsight once squinted at, or just got a wildass guess right -- look no further than this frickin board to understand that.
There's been enough conjecture and crap thrown at the wall on this board that
somebody is probably going to be "right" once it's all said and done. But that doesn't mean that you can necessarily say they were tapped in or knew what was coming. Similarly, you probably shouldn't read into anything that the front office is doing/not doing/perceived to be doing/not doing/announcing/not announcing right now. If they want to have Miller work out for them, I'm sure they'll be able to get that to happen. It's possible, given the gun situation, that they're doing it in secret so as to not create a media frenzy like what we saw with Chauncey. It's possible they want to keep interest in him secretive. It's possible they're trying to drum up Scoot's value to trade.
My point in all of this -- yes, there probably
are things to read into out there, but there's SOOOO many readable things that unless you're really
really tapped in, you're probably going to read at least some of the wrong ones. Doesn't mean we can't have fun and speculate and hypothesize and hope, but just don't squint to hard at any one thing cuz it's probably not going to be one of the right ones anyway -- we'll know which ones were soon enough!
