But you trust Joe to trade Dame? If I didn't trust Joe, it would be the opposite for me.
I worded it wrong. "I am open to trading dame, I just don't trust Joe."

If we get Miller I’d be tempted to keep Dame and trade Simons\Nurk for another piece. If we get Scoot, I think Simons has to go for sure and maybe Dame.ya one of the things i would look forward to if we do indeed trade dame is handing Ant the reins at PG full time and seeing what he has in games that matter.
I don't trust Joe, but I'd expect the team should have more assets, picks, and youth if they trade Dame away than if they trade picks away to win now.I worded it wrong. "I am open to trading dame, I just don't trust Joe."

It's about setting up the GM for success after Joe.
I see Donovan Mitchell Lite. Said that. That means a lesser player.
Just bustin yer balls. Because I careI worded it wrong. "I am open to trading dame, I just don't trust Joe."
A lot easier to just root for a different team than it is to "Go get some job skills and increase your income".Go get some job skills and increase your income then.
I can actually do something about that money thing. Problem is when my favorite NBA team does stupid moves I'm a helpless frustrated spectator.
I dunno, I've been able to increase income fine. I've never been able to go root for another team. Not sure if it qualifies as a sickness or what, but I've been stuck as a Blazers fanatic since I was in the 3rd grade.A lot easier to just root for a different team than it is to "Go get some job skills and increase your income".

Trading Dame for Jaylen Brown wouldn't make sense unless we were planning on moving ahead with Ant, Sharpe, Brown, Grant, and #23. Or sign and trade Grant for picks.Rebuilding also means losing games and getting more high lottery picks. How does Jaylen Brown help that?
I didn't put Wemby as an option, because he obviously not an option. So since the question is "what are you hoping for?", and I wanted to keep the options realistic, I listed the realistic possibilities. If it were an option, I would have voted for Draft Miller or Scoot and keep him. My hopes don't extend to what other teams do... if they did then I be for drafting and keeping Wemby!
STOMP
I imagine that if you have three of the following players: Jaylen Brown on a re-signed five year contract, Shaedon Sharpe with three years left on a rookie deal, and Scoot Henderson on a four year rookie deal, "rebuilding" will take less time than you think.Rebuilding also means losing games and getting more high lottery picks. How does Jaylen Brown help that?
#3 and Nurk and filter for KAT I would be down for
$36,016,200/$49,245,000/$53,184,600/$57,124,200/$61,063,800#3 and Nurk and filter for KAT I would be down for
depends on how you look at the current outlook of the team, I want us to not trade out franchise best player and try our best to wing a chip with him. With that said, who says if we keep the 3rd pick we hit a home run? draft picks don't pan out many times, and we dont need to add another young piece if we are trying to win now.$36,016,200/$49,245,000/$53,184,600/$57,124,200/$61,063,800
That's KAT's salary the next five years. Since 2020, he's played 35, 50, 74, and 29 games. He's also had virtually no playoff success. Why are people here keen on wanting this guy. In the post-Dame era, how will be complete with a maxed out Sharpe making probably around 40m/year while KAT also makes over $50m/year without the guarantee he'll even play over 50 games in any given year?
Those two seem the next tier of prospects after VW, but I'll need some more time. Now that Portland's draft position is set, I'll start to go down rabbit holes of videos of the various prospects on the weekends. I do hope that they all at least participate in the measurement portion of the combine as that is often revealing. Btw, I see no reason why Charlotte would flinch at pairing Scoot with LaMello if they deem him to be the better prospect. Clearly one of his best traits is the on ball pressure he provides on D and that is far far from a strength of Ball or Rozier for that matter.I didn't put Wemby as an option, because he obviously not an option. So since the question is "what are you hoping for?", and I wanted to keep the options realistic, I listed the realistic possibilities.
Is it really that problematic to specify which of the two you're hoping does to #3?
yes, Wagner is a future all star
Look how long OKC is taking in their rebuild. And while all the young talent, and future picks are nice, they still aren't there. It's been what, 7 years of this rebuild. It could take 4 to 5 more till they get a player who is SGA level, if they do. Chet is interest, and has a wonderful skillset, but can he stay healthy. What if SGA bolts. Then you're back to square 1. There are no super teams right now. If the Blazers go "All IN' and acquire some quality pieces to put around Dame over the next 2 seasons , and it doesn't work, you still have Sharpe, being as young as he is, to build around with youth later. Rebuilding takes much longer unless you're lucky enough to get a LeBron, Wemby type talent. We all hope Sharpe is the truth. If he is, it will really show this year, in a pronounced uptick in his play. But to give up and start rebuild now, it can take years upon years to find a player who has Dame's abilities, if ever. And i say this all the time. Most of us love Portland. We wouldn't be here if we didn't, unless there's financial issues that don't allow a move. But not all athletes buy in to this special place ( lack of entertainment choices, weather, etc.). And they might choose to force the Blazers hand and want out, instead of maxing out money wise here.
Orlando also has the #6 pick, do you want to do #3 for #6 and Wagner?

The 3 for Wagner, 6 and 11. We are playing poker. If they don't like it offer up the second rounders or even 23. Go for the jugular people. Portland has the desired asset. With this said, keep 3 and draft Scoot or Miller.
Actually, no. This is factually dishonest because the cupboard would be bare except for having sharp and squat left because you and others are wanting to trade every conceivable asset the Blazers have to go all in for Dame. You have proposed every pick and pick swap Portland owns to satisfy Dame. Which leaves nothing in a couple years when Sharpe is peaking and he becomes Dame Jr. with a shit team around him. There is no "youth later" in your scenarios.

Quite creative and the trades all seem somewhat realistic.I would trade pick 3 and Nurk to the Raptors for OG, pick 13 and a future first rounder.
I would trade pick 13 to the Knicks for Hartenstein and a future first.
I would trade Ant, Nas, rights to pick 23 and up to three future FRPs (two of which would be the firsts we would get from the Raptors and Knicks) to the Wolves for KAT. We would have to send Chicago a second and guarantee them our FRP next season to do this but I would, it replenishes Minny's future firsts that they lost in the Gobert trade and gives them back court help that they need.
All of these trades are separate and they work under the CBA. The Hartenstein trade would be completed during this NBA fiscal year so he would fit into our TPE. That would mean that the OG trade would have to be completed by then as well. The KAT trade would have to be completed in the new fiscal year so his salary matches closely enough with Ant and Nas and also so we are no longer hard capped.
We could use pick 45 on the best available upperclassman PG who could compete with Mays to be Dame's backup. We would re-sign Jerami and Matisse and pick up the option on Knox. We would get the best wing (most likely a PF) that we could the the TPMLE.
Dame, pick 45, Mays
Shae, Matisse, Keon
OG, Matisse, Knox
Jerami, TPMLE, Trendon
KAT, Hartenstein, Drewbanks, Badji
If the change of scenery and playing with Dame has KAT playing the best ball of his career and this team can stay healthy for the most part, I think it would grab HCA in the first round and be a scary match up for any team in the league.

Right, I would think Siakam would be better pairing with Grant. he averaged abot three more rebounds per game than Bridges. Hard to know how much of that difference is in how they were used and who played next to them?I don't agree with the Siakam/Grant pairing being awkward. Why do you way that?
I love the idea of Bridges but Grant is such an asbismal rebounder - that I can't have him be the long-term solution at PF.
The best of all options would be a Bridges/Siakam front court.
