Dont let the narrative that some posters here push onto Dame be the accurate one. He is fully invested and will do his due diligence with prospects before demanding we simply throw this pick away for short term gain.

He was fully onboard the Sharpe pick last year no matter how much Marang tells you he wasn't. I found that connection where it seemed like Dame and Sharpe worked out together in Phoenix at the same gym before the draft last year. I'm sure he is going to do the same sort of thing in some capacity this year.

Agreed. I think Dame wants what is best for the team. He wants to bring in the most capable players possible.

It the most capable players are available in the draft I think he'll be good with it.

100% agree. Dame is not dumb. Since the report came out that Idiot Ujiri demanded a haul for OG and Dame was okay keeping the 7th Pick, i have a hard time believing that we would gave the 3rd Pick away for anything less than an All NBA Wing.

Remember, Kolde was only present last year for Sharpe and Daniels.

The fact that he's there watching the Thompson twins tells me that they're in play.
Sharpe came to Portland twice last year. Jeremy Woo unearthed a second workout that he had in town. And there was a workout in Phoenix at the same gym with Dame and Beckner. More than what meets the eye in these public appearances.

If we were to believe the hype following predraft workouts that the team publicly released, you would think the team would have drafted either Daniels or Duren.

Cronin seems like a master to say something in Interviews but actually not saying anything.

Here is kind of an interesting Mock with trades.
Has them taking Amen Thompson at #3 and here is his reasoning:

  1. If the Hornets are fairly set on Miller, then the draft starts here. Portland could go a number of different directions, and it publicly sounds prepared to trade this pick in order to get Damian Lillard some immediate assistance.

At the lottery, Blazers general manager Joe Cronin told Yahoo Sports' Jake Fischer his team is "trying to win and trying to maximize Damian's timeline." At some point in this process, though, Portland might conclude this roster has too many holes to ever become a contender during whatever remains of the 32-year-old's prime.

Should the Blazers embrace life after Lillard (more on that scenario later), they might bypass Scoot Henderson to snatch up the wildly intriguing Amen Thompson.

ESPN's Jonathan Givony reported the 20-year-old will "get long looks from Portland," and the Blazers might prefer the pairing of Thompson, a 6'7" two-way playmaker with explosive athleticism, with 6'3" scoring guard Anfernee Simons over Henderson's fit in an undersized backcourt.
Then has them trading with Orlando:

  1. Portland Trail Blazers receive: Markelle Fultz, Jalen Suggs, Jonathan Isaac, No. 6 pick, No. 11 pick and 2025 first-round pick (top-three protected)

    Orlando Magic receive: Damian Lillard
Then picking Jarace Walker at #6 and Gradey Dick at #11

I gotta admit. I like it. Not sure about Dick but would be others available.

My gut says Hornets take him unfortunately.

Doubt it. His ceiling is lower than Scoot's and that's the consensus. Also, his legal troubles on top of Bridges.

If Scoot fell to #3, I'd be ecstatic about taking him. His value is higher whether to keep or trade.

Another question to ask is: What other offers will Boston receive that is better than #3?

Teams don't always get what they want in trades. If Boston knows they're not going to resign Brown next summer, it's about being the best option they have, not the option they want.
It also depends on where Brown wants to go.

Portland Out: Simons, #3
Portland In: Bridges

Orlando Out: 11
Orlando In: Simons

Houston Out: 4, 24 Brooklyn pick
Houston In: 3

Brooklyn out: Bridges
Brooklyn In: 4, 11, pick returned

I know the general premise in Brooklyn not tanking is they don't have their pick. Here, they get their pick returned. Houston moves ahead of us for their top choice. Orlando trades their later lotto pick for a lead guard. Portland lands a stud SF to pair with Dame.

If you listen to Danny Marang with any sort of seriousness that's a character flaw.

Can it be combined with a pick though?
That's what they did with the Jerami Grant trade when they sent the 2025 Milwaukee pick to Detroit.
"Grant's salary — nearly $21 million for next season — is virtually the exact amount as the trade exception that Portland created in February when it traded C.J.McCollum to New Orleans."

I think Brooklyn needs to send either #20 or 21 back to Portland here.

Does Bridges really have that much value?

If Dame is going to be traded it makes no sense to me to pass on Scoot if Scoot is available.

It kinda seems like people are deliberately trying to tank the value of Miller.

Miller is a phenomenal player. No question. He can fill it up.

But he has not interviewed greatly and anyway you slice it, he delivered the gun that killed a single mother. There are red flags and none are about talent.

Richman made a good point today on his podcast....Enis Kanter, OG Mayo and Mike Dunleavy Jr were all taken at # 3.....many stars were picked there as well but there are a list of clunkers high in the draft...the Adam Morrisons.
