One of Trey Murphy's weaknesses is that he doesn't create his own shots but he is improving: "According to PBPStats, 16.3% of his field goals were self-created last year and he generated an effective field goal percentage of 26.7% on them. Those marks have perked up to 22.9% and 56.9%."

Out of all the players discussed….people are excited about Trey Murphy?

My thought exactly! They also have Ingram and Zion but we are fine with their fourth option for the third pick in the draft? There better be a lot more, but he is also listed as a SG, like Sharpe. So we want to move him to SF with no evidence he will work there? Too speculative for me. Trade for Ingram. If they say no, guess they don't really want Scoot. Move along.

Have you found any Chicago Bull scenarios that are even remotely sane? The proposals I have seen so far (Just not with the Blazers) are all based on DDR as the big prize. I saw one that suggested Ant and #3 for DDR. That is crazy talk.
I agree. I see DeRozen as a quality pickup that would require using the #23 pick, a 2nd rounder, and a player like Ant to make the Cap work and get pick reconciliation. The # 3 is either gonna bring a big fish in a trade, or be drafted.

If you move the #3 pick, "a super valuable starter" isn't enough in my eyes.

You need a sure-fire thing, like Brandon Ingram.

NBA is a top heavy league. We've gone down the path of putting non stars next to Dame. We want to give up the most valuable trade asset we've had in Dame's career for a starter?

happy to revisit this in a year

I see an opportunity for the Blazers to get 3 Vet players this offseason.
1 - Trading the #3 / current player for a All NBA talent.
2 - A deal for DeMar DeRozen / pick reconciliation using #23 / future pick / current player .
3 - Free Agent signing.

Trey is a legit 6'8" (6'9" with shoes) Decent defender and a great shooter. We would need more for #3 but I would love to get him somehow.

some people try to be too smart on here. Really? Trey Murphy over mikal bridges,Brandon Ingram, siakam?

Thank god cause I hate the idea of a unmotivated , lazy Ayton who has gotten paid in a Blazers uniform and have said it before and this will be the last time I say it . Any proposal , trade Rumor that includes Ayton ending up in a Blazer uniform is a non starter and dead on arrival and a garbage idea. ----- Next .....
Felix Flex is gonna be interviewed on Rip City Radio at 5:20. Wonder if he'll try to pass that #3 pick for Ayton BS again. Dude is a Phoenix shill.

My prediction for next week

23rd pick goes to Chicago freeing up future picks

Blazers get Bridges and Ayton

Give up Nurk, Little, kJ, Simons and draft picks ( #3 goes to Brooklyn with Simons)

Phoenix needs to replace Ayton if he’s traded and need some depth off the bench. Nurk, Little and Keon plus pick/picks to Phoenix.

Brooklyn gets Simons and #3.

Blazers starting lineup
Dame
Sharpe
Bridges
Grant
Ayton

Not sure with new collective bargaining agreement may not work but works on trade machine. Not saying I agree with all of this but it’s close to what I think will happen.

Brooklyn ends up Miller and Simons

Are those 3 actually being offered?

Is Trey Murphy being offered?
Is Ingram being offered?

What players do you know are for sure being offered?

doing something centered around Trey Murphy, I don’t get care if it’s 100 first round picks attached, would be a huge miss

Flex lives in New Jersey now. Not near as connected to Phoenix as he likes to think. Just a cowboy with a keyboard like so many others trying to be relevant.

True but you made it sound like fans would rather have Trey over those guys. That is not the case

I just don't think the Pels have nearly enough assets outside of Ingram to get the 3rd pick

Nurkic + Little + #3 for Valuciunas + Murphy + Herbert Jones + #14 + 2024 LA Lakers first/2024 New Orleans first, whichever is higher + 2026 New Orleans first + 2027 Milwaukee first...??

even then, it's not enough IMO...and yeah, I know that's too much, but fuck the Pels if they don't want to pay

Apparently it's Zion. The scuttlebutt is that they want Scoot, and want to move off Zion. I just don't know how i feel about that. You love the potential. He could be all world. But his eating habits, injury history, and potential attitude about that makes me leery. But he could be Bill Walton Part Deux on the high side. Can he stay healthy for 3 years?
Is it worth the gamble. It would definitely be a chips to the middle of the table move.

Zion for #3 huge gamble but legit superstar when healthy. “With risk comes great reward” not sure if do it but damn I’d really have to think about it. Hell #3 pick is huge risk. Plus you’d have to give up players to match salary

Dame
Sharpe
Grant
Zion
???

heathy Zion makes you top 4 team in west. Look how good NO was when he was in the lineup.

Might have to be a 3 way deal.

You'd have to game manage him. Like the Lakers do with AD.

He makes 33 mil on his extension. Very nice. Blazers would still be able to add more pieces. It's..... An eye opener.

Still like to add DeRozen as well. Sharpe could be 6th man. If the Blazers make that deal, the Blazers have to just take the plastic off and let Zion play. What happens, happens. No more kid gloves. His weight may never get better. It would be a Brandon Roy type move. Get what you can until you can't no more.

Can Zion even pass a physical right now? If either team is seriously considering this deal with Zion as the foundational piece from the Pelicans, you'd think that either the Hornets or the Blazers would demand that their doctors see Zion first. You'd also likely want to speak with Zion and his representation as well.

I understand the upside, and if a trade were to happen I'd be rooting for Zion with all my energy... but man there are a lot of questions... injury issues, weight, personal drama, major defensive deficiences, etc.

Even if he were to miraculously stay healthy for a year or two, how long would you have until the wheels come off? He's almost 23 now... will he be able to play after like 27? It's scary, but that's a real concern.

That's why it's a Bill Walton Part Deux type, chips all in move. You play him no matter what. He may never get his weight just right, ever!

Bill Walton as far as injury history and player impact.
