Howard Beck said the last two conversations he had related to the Nets were basically discussing:

#3 + Ant for Bridges + Stuff

Dependent on Scoot being there.

I have no doubt Bridges is our #1 target. I think all of our top options are dependent on Scoot being there, so hopefully Charlotte takes Miller. Maybe there was momentum on a Bridges deal and the NO thing got out because NO really wants Scoot?

My read on the NO stuff right now is this:

1.). The reporting seemed heavily biased towards NO trading with Charlotte.

2.) Most of the talk is NO trying to jump to #2 - not #3.

Might this be because NO got wind that there are deals in place for Scoot from Portland's side, and they prefer those other packages to what NO is offering? It would make sense given all the anti-Ingram talk from people familiar with Portland's FO. Now NO feels the pressure to jump to #2 instead.

Beck was kind of hard to listen too...hyper rambling makes me nervous

I really don't know how credible he is, but I was intrigued by two things he said, and you noted one of them:

#3 + Ant for Bridges + Stuff. The addition of Stuff kind of suggests it would be Brooklyn adding the incentive instead of Portland. It also seems to suggest talks have progressed quite a bit past 'no thanks. I'd really be curious what the stuff looked like

the other thing of interest was when he said if he had to guess he thinks Brooklyn will trade Bridges...maybe not right away, but eventually. Maybe #3 is enough to make it sooner rather than later

Marang called BI Big CJ.

Highkin doesn't think BI is viewed as a difference maker.

Jones doesn't like BI.

I don't think the FO wants or likes BI.

I think if we give the Nets pick 3, pick 43 and a couple future seconds, we could move up to 2 and get this Zion trade done.

Trade Ant and pick 23 to Orlando for WCJ, pick 11 and Gary Harris who we send to NOLA along with pick 2 and Nurk for Zion.

Then we have Dame, Shae, re-signed Jeremi, Zion, WCJ and a bench of a re-signed Matisse, TPLME, pick 11 or picks we get by trading back. That is a contender plain and simple.

Even after missing an entire season due to injury?

lisfranc is usually a one time thing. A broken bone. Not as big a long term concern as some kind of muscle tear or back injury or something like that where it has the potential to linger.

Would you trade #3 for Chet Holmgren straight up?
Unless there is something wrong us fans don't know about, I'd do that in a second. He's a better player and fit on Portland then any of the 2023 prospects. Pretty sure OKC would only do it if they had serious concerns with him though as he really fills a need for them too. His addition should launch them into the mix of playoff teams and maybe even win a round

I agree. They are set at SF with Dort and PG with SGA

They're a talented but unconventional team. Giddey runs the point on offense, while Dort guards the toughest opponent 1-3 on the other end. SGA is their 2 guard and primary scoring threat while Williams is their jack of all trades 3. Chet projects to fill the void in the frontcourt. With all the upcoming draft capitol they've coming, they could be scary good in a couple years

My brother went to SL last year and said Chet was clearly the best player there.

Hornets trying to bring back Scoot and Miller on Monday for meeting with MJ per Jake Fischer I believe

Yeppers. They agree with what some of us have said, and why Bridges to Portland isn't so farfetched. Not saying for sure it will happen. But those dealing in absolutes who said "No Way", will Brooklyn trade Bridges, might have to eat some crow.
